I don't know if I'm at the right place with this so if not I'd like to ask a mod/admin to place it where it should be.
So, I'm gonna get my new PC soon (core2duo, nvidia 8800gt, 2gb ram). I used Sony Vegas for about 10 mins in the last 3 years (6.0). But now, as I'll get a PC which will be good enough for editing too, I'd like to ask you guys to suggest me the best version of Vegas, that should work fine for me. And anything else that is needed for Vegas/editing.

Should probably move this to computer talk, but no one will see it there . Your pc is pretty much the same as the one I'm getting, what processor, I'm getting an E8400. I'd recommend Sony Vegas 8 as your editing program:

Thats about all you're going to need to edit with, I'd also get Fraps, probably the newest one 2.9.4:

Also there are some optional recording tools/programs you can download, here are the ones I use most:

Camhack 3.0
Vice Studios (very good program, useful for quick animation captures etc. in intros)
Vice Builder (in case you want to do scripting)

And thats about all I use .

i like vegas 7 more then 8, most plugins arent for 8 too
but meh, both are usefull

I've never used 8 . Its the newest version though, and supposedly the best.

Okay, I have 2.6.1. Do you think that is there that much difference how it would be deserving to buy 2.9.4?
Back to Vegas, if you suggest 7.0, which version (as far as I know there are more like a, b, c, d....)?
