Promisse is promisse

Review Eminence XSA Video 14
  • Introduction (Labiloute Script) : Nothing but marvelous, when I saw the camera going i kinda thought: nice, another one of those wicked intros with cam-hack... My ass, that was awesome, very well done, just didnt like, at the beggining, it looked like the music was cut, maybe it was some kind of fading, I dont know, nevertheless, awesome intro, one of the best Ive seen so far.
MainPart
  • Souzuk : That was massive, big height, even bigger distance, I love it, perfect opener, editing also matched the music
  • Corevil : Nice, very well done stunt, good use of those parking things (which arent used for parking cars, but anyways) And good landing, editing also matched the music, once more, and didn't hurt my eyes
  • Labiloute : Well, I was expecting something more, but when I saw you were going for the grind, I thought: "ok, he'll do it", but the grind wasn't that well executed, still, the packer was in angle plus it was a huge gap which probably made things harder
  • Sweet : Finally, someone made a good landing out of those things, I was praying for that  Nice one, the rotation and landing were very clean, editing, once more, kicked ass
  • Kallesetae : Sorry Souzuk, I hcanged my mind about the opener... nah, j/k. Another well executed (and big) P2B
  • Souzuk : I love this kinda bump, vertical, the hardest one to get, I think (dunno about SA), great landing on such an old and over-whored spot
  • Corevil : When I saw the wallride, it was something like: "Old stunt, whatever", you kicked my ass with that nice grind, very good, even though slow grinds are boring and you got some rotation when you landed on the rail, which messed things up, however, nice find
  • Labiloute : Nah, not my kinda thing, I mean, when you, out of nothing started "flying" or w/e (which made me scream, seriously, scared the shit outta me), it looked cheated, just because the magnet didn't appear at the rep, not your fault though, but nice find
  • Omni : I love those road thingies, reminds me of yesterday, or my noob times, w/e, then you got a nice grind, getting the tip of a ledge grind to top it off
  • Kallesetae : Ahh, finally, I've seen a boat bump in SA, anyways, it wasn't very clear the way you leaped from the first part of the run-up, seemed that you bump, but, too little height, nontheless, nice one, very well executed
  • Souzuk : I landed that on PS2  but ok, nothing recorded either, nice job doing this, it's a great combo
  • Drizzly : Lovely, that was so clean and well landed, that... not a word for so
  • Corevil : I screamed again when I saw the Infernus popping out of nothing, but anyways, Nice find, must've taken some good time to land that BB, at the end I was like: "He's not making it" but then: "He's not stupid enough to send a failed MD to a crew video, so, he'll make it, period"
  • Labiloute : Slow grind  but nice one, would've been better if you bump the rail and landed those poles at the right, but anyways, good thing you didn't, believe me, nice one, well executed, despite the slow grind
  • Kallesetae : I can see it nominated as the best single stunt of 2008, and I can see it winning, so far, that was so clean, I've done loads of these kind of stoppies on PS2, they're a pain to keep, prinicipally when you try to spin, but Ledge grinding? Awesome, nothing less, something more, maybe
  • Souzuk : I want stats, now, meanwhile, I gotta say it was a nice find, looked unexpected though, cuz it didn't seem you were gonna bump it and land that (massive) gap. Nice one though
  • Corevil : My God, you little creative freak, a grind 2 wallride(?) 2 ledge(?) grind awesome, such a complew combo with such perfection, nice one
  • Labiloute : kk, you were using the air particles as run-up? j/k, I think I got what's wrong, anyways, you were probably not going for that one, I bet you planned to grind the dumper, then the other grind, but anyways, it was so well executed that I can't point anything bad about this one
  • Souzuk : Another one that you landed and doesn't look very clear what you were doing, for me, it seems you were going for the precision on the BB, but the grind blended so nice that it made the stunt lovely, nice job
  • Corevil : I gotta be honest, when I was typing my stupid criticism on the stunt above, I saw your name and I was like: "Corevil... what kinda weird stunt he'll have now?" The most creative one on this video (I say that cuz that's the first time I'm watching it, so...) very good, very clean, but the editing messed it up, cuz I love watching grinds, completed
  • Labiloute : Nice one, very well executed, even with that weird grinding on the second rail, but I bet the third one wasn't planned...
  • Souzuk : *Yeah! three stunts and then the outro, then I'm free with this pact I had with Souzuk*  Back to what really matters, Nice one, I lvoe massive stats on cars, but you got so close to the top...
  • Corevil : Nice one, that's becoming your registered trademark, backflip 2 grind  Nice one, well executed and very clean, but editing   messed up cuz I wanted to see more of that grind
  • Kallesetae : Not the best finisher TBH, it loked very random, like, you landed that out of nothing while fucking around, but it looked so fucking great that it's not fair to criticize it like that, Nice one, good finisher
  • Outro (Labiloute Cinematic) : Too short  but it was very good, one of the best for sure, but that funky NRG... That made me laugh

    HAPPY NOW SOUZUK??
EDIT: Oh look, Geronimo MQ at 92%

Just watched and i rather liked it  Some very clean nice stunts, with the mix of some grinds and big airs. The editing imo complimented the stunts in spots and in other took a little away from them. But other than that a very nice vid, editing was good, music was good. Well done XSA on a very special vid and its deffinatly a keeper

I liked the intro mate. It was simple and different enough. The logo looked awesome.

  • Souzuk : Nice height mate, big epic opener for the video
  • Corevil : Really nice, cabbie stunting almost looks like VC style stuff these days. Great work from such a little boost surface
  • Labiloute : Nice idea but it could be improved upon with a more solid lock onto the rail....maybe more height less distance would give you more rail to work with?
  • Sweet : Nice rotation on the bump but it was obscured by the camera work which took away from the stunt a bit
  • Kallesetae : Nicely done again, a big bump....achieved its purpose
  • Souzuk : This area has been used to much its hard to tell what is original anymore...nicely done but not really that impressive because its just one more bump in that area
  • Corevil : Nice work on the wallride 2 grind...like the technical aspect and the lucky part of the stunt really helped it out
  • Labiloute : I cannot tell what is going on....obviously using the crane but the editing also did not give it enough chance to do its thing
  • Omni : Solid stunt mate and well done on landing it (I remember you trying it awhile ago) pity the grind was cut off by the editing
  • Kallesetae : Great idea dude and nicely executed...I never knew a boat could be bump so smoothly
  • Souzuk : A double grind...good work, a bit slow though which let the stunt down a tiny bit (the idea was still awesome though)
  • Drizzly : This is a really cool stunt, it was smoothly landed and fit perfectly with that part of the song. Well done
  • Corevil : The random MD launches can be used better than just random roofings and I felt this stunt was a bit of a filler for the video since even the landing itself looked lucky
  • Labiloute : Nice idea...but weird, it just feels odd seeing a straight on approach to a grind
  • Kallesetae : Easily the best stunt in this video and 100% original  Love it
  • Souzuk : Cool stunt mate...really frenetic looking in its execution
  • Corevil : Another double grind...got to love those things
  • Labiloute : Interesting idea again...but let down by the fact you cannot see the crane
  • Souzuk : Another great high speed stunt....has this or something similar appeared in a recent video? For some reason I remember seeing something like it
  • Corevil : Great work mate but again the grind part which made the stunt was cut short by editing...unfortunate
  • Labiloute : Good work on the idea...it does look a bit random that you got onto the final rail and again you put in a second viewing of the stunt instead of showing the whole third grind in full
  • Souzuk : Epic, Epic, Epic....massive stunt that makes me love SA car stunting. This should have been the closer.
  • Corevil : You are crazy....stop trying to push quad stunting...  its not fair that you can be so awesome and we have to just watch hehe
  • Kallesetae : Cool double bump with a nice landing spot but not the big closer the video should have had

From some of my comments you can see I had some issues with the editing. I thought that there were some issues with stunt placement, some may have worked better in other positions in the video in my opinion. Also the crane position in the actual game is replicated when you watch a replay so it could've been possible to move the crane at the SF docks so Sweet's run up was not obscured and shown the crane at the construction site as the true run up with a little more effort in the camming stage. I found the editing itself to be a bit odd, alot of grinds seemed to be cut short and in some cases (like corevil's mtbike grind) it really let the stunt down. This also was the case when the end of the stunt was shown in a cut up fashion (the quarry stunt really confused me). You also seemed to repeat some other stunts which is fine but could have been dropped in favor of giving more time to let a stunt finish. An alternative could have been to get a longer song...give each stunt more than enough breathing room for you to edit them well. These are just my own reactions and if XSA is happy then that is awesome  But yeah just something to take on board for a future video.

The most important part was that the stunts really impressed on their own regardless of those points I felt let them down

Thanks again XSA, another video into the history of one of my favourite crews ever

W  W !!!!, these new faces fit into XSA perfectly.

Only problem I had was that the editing was annoying at some points.

Killerstunter's bigass review
(only because this video owns and all my great buds are in the video)

Intro:
Oh my god, Labi your scripting skills are awesome, i'v head SA scripting is much harder than VC. You did an amazing job with the intro, with the scripting and the editing(I loved the music too) and most importantly the camera angles were good. I liked the idea of the intro, very  creative idea i love it  and i definatly loved that XSA logo effect, the music fit it so well and the 3d look stunned me. One of the best intros i have ever seen in SA. No offence to TMS but this intro beats the TMS world effect thingy

Stunts:

Souzuk
Great opener dude, very cool idea and great height. (9/10)

Corevil
The cabbie boost king with another cool stunt, really nice idea mate, i always find these kinds of boosts very hard and annoying lol. (9/10)

Labiloute
Awesome idea mate, i really love p2b2grind combos, nice height but the grind was too short but since i am a grind wh0re. (9.5/10)

Sweet
Sick stunt man, the rotation was awesome and the height impressed me but i couldn't see the bump because of the stupid crane lol. (9/10)

Kallesetae
SICK stunt man, fucking nice height. It feels funny when you pass by some place in SA, then you think no stunts can't be landed there and then you see a fucking nice stunt landed there, you kinda regret and amazed but right now i am nothing else but amazed. (9.5/10)

Souzuk
Another great stunt man, i tried that spot some time ago i couldn't correctly bump it so i quit trying, glad you landed so clean and awesomely. (9.5/10)

Corevil
GREAT COMBO DUDE, that was sick as heck, i really loved it and the rotation around the grind made it all for me.(9.5/10)

Labiloute
I really didn't understand what that was, but it's obviously something creative and which i don't understand. Something related to magnets eh? Creative IMO. =) (9/10)

Omni
Awesome stunt dude, that ledge helped you land the grind properly and i love it. (9.5/10)

Kallesetae
Dude, very nice distance and that bump was so smooth lol, great idea  , come to think of it i'v seen this method in a few videos recently released lol. (9/10)

Souzuk
You'r the MTB combo god   , that stunt was fucking sick but the second grind was too short but what the heck you grinded that  . (9.5/10)

DriZzly
Glad to see you in this video man, i expected something creative from you and i saw just what i wanted. The wallride was great, superb idea. (9.5/10)

Corevil:
Well i am not really into stuff related to MD but that was awesome lol, and lucky, not always you see coreflow done with a infernus. Very creative man, as always  . (9.5/10)

Labiloute
Dude i love Combos like this, and i thought i was the only one approaching grinds straight and the front grind made it all since it's harder to balance like that lol. (9.5/10)

Kallesetae
OMFG FUCK SHIT THAT WAS FUCKING SICK YOU FUCKING PWN. Anyways that was awesome man the second backward stoppie made it all especially the rotation and the ledge grind fucking made me happy. (10/10)(THIS STUNT DESERVES 10/10 BECAUSE IT OWNS)

Souzuk
So this was the stunt you lost, still man it's awesome that you landed it first than anyone else and your idea but Saso you poophead you don't use the nrg i made you   . (9.5/10)

Corevil
Sick double grind dude, the landing made it all because it was a ledge grind it's hard to control when you land it lol(In my experience  ). (9.5/10)

Labiloute
Another great idea with the crane or something right? Anyways great idea to use a dumper very creative to land a grind like that. (9/10)

Souzuk
Another stunt you lost but the good thing is that you executed it better and grinded longer than the guy who landed it so good job man  . (9.5/10)

Corevil
You poophead why do you always steal my ideas telepathically, i stop chatting with you then. Nah j/k, i had this idea but i never tried it, glad to see someone else doing it and doing it better than i would ever do it  . (9.5/10)

Labiloute
AWESOME STUNT DUDE, the rotation made it all and you was about to fall off but you gained control and you fucking landed the 3rd grind!! But you should have showed the third grind lol but still awesome. (9.5/10)

Souzuk
EPIC STUNT MOFO, FUCKING AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME EPIC EPIC I LOVE YOU MAN!! Would have been awesome if you landed the blue thingy but i am pushing it too far. What i mean is you did such an amazing job landing that and i am asking you to land that blue thing  . (10/10!!)

Corevil
You poop stop it, i am losing spots cuz of you lol. Still awesome stunt man since quad grinding is very hard and plus a ledge gring should be harder  . (9.5/10)

Kallesetae
Great finisher dude, the second bump made it all and great landing but IMO this should not be the finisher, no offence Kalle buddy  but still a great stunt. (9.5/10)

Overall:
The editing was awesome Labi, the the intro was fucking great and the XSA logo effect was just brilliant outstanding nothing more to say. This video has something that most of the other videos don't have, an outstanding credits. I mean the credits were so awesome i never saw anything like that lol, Labi is that your 3DS Max skills or Adobe After Effects skills lol? If core won't be able to edit my next solo then i would love Labi to edit it  . The music was a great choice i definatly had the XSA feeling, i really hate good editors because they find the most pwnage songs and leave none for the rest of us lol. The stunts were great, in this video creativity and the feeling of usual XSA pwnage was there, not like "The Watched"(Where creativity was more IMO). I really enjoyed watching this video, I expected a little bit more but i am satisfied because still the stunts were motherfucking ownage. That's all from me, i hope i don't earn hate from XSA members because of my criticism  .
Oh and sorry if i wrote anything wrong(the stunts)

The end
