I dont give a fuck what eric has to say, he's a liar and he's proved it in the past. I dont associate with liars. Poverty is just a term for lazy people. If you're life is so hard take a boat ride across the atlantic and live out the American Dream. You people should read the book Ragged Dick by Horatio Alger. If everything is so corrupt in Thailand then join the dark side. Deal heroin or something. I'm sure you could make stacks of money.

I have two guitars, an ESP Dave Mustaine DV8-R with Seymour Duncan pickups and an Ibanez JS1200 with Dimarzio Joe Satriani signature pickups. If I play both guitars on my amp with the exact same settings, the JS1200 sounds much better, more crisp, clean sound with a metal tone. Why is that? Because they're really good quality pickups and even though the Seymour Duncan pickups are good, they're not as good and you can tell from the sound.

Dude why dont you shut the fuck up and go away, none of your posts matter anyway so why waste it? So I lied in the past, big fucking deal, get over it, seriously, all you ever do is fucking spam the forums, I'm getting really fucking tired of your annoyance, you're a nuisance on the forums and I dont give a fuck about what you've done in the past for the forums, you're a dick and its been proved by how you react when you know people are right. Go play a 6505 and then tell me what a real amp sounds like, oh and btw, the JS1200 sounds different because of the basswood body, not the pickups, the DV8-R has a Mahogany body, which is a darker sounding wood, so shut the fuck up, get a new amp and hear what real tone is like.

And the theory helps, I dont let it affect my creativity, remember dissonance is bliss
I still have fans here. Shut your piehole you dirty immigrant. And dont tell me to get a new amp to hear what real tone is like. I've played on my buddy's Peavey JSX head through a marshall half-cab, on both my JS1200 and my buddy's JEM and Universe. I think I've heard quite good tone. hey remember that fancy studio you were always playing at and making recordings? haha yeah, shut the fuck up.

Oh! so all you've heard is a JSX? the JSX is quite sterile tonewise, and a Marshall Cab? let me guess the 1960B   look, when you've played through a Framus Cobra, a 6505 and a Framus Dragon, Peavey 6505, and a Carvin V3 (I spent a lot of time in GC) then you've heard good tone, the JSX has the Ultra channel off the XXX, which is a half decent amp, but still not a very nice tube amp, so I'll leave it be, if you have a problem with me take it up in PM's...its funny how you've memorized all my lines, I guess you're my biggest fan eh?

You dont have to play a guitar yourself through a good amp to hear good tone. Have you ever listened to music? you can hear tone there too eh. Paul Gilbert has awesome tone, as well as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and I could go on. You have this impression that I'm totally ignorant and you're trying to act like some know-it-all. I've been playing guitar for over 4 years. This lame argument is hereby over.

You can play guitar for 20 years and still be ignorant, I bet that's gonna be you one day, but yes this argument is over, but not because you declared so, its because you just dont know the mechanics of tone and what makes those tones. Besides anyone can have good tone as long as they have the right gear and know how to EQ, plus an effect or 2 is always useful.

Now that this bashing war between the two of you is over... anyone wanna teach me how to do pinch harmonics? I looked up lessons online, but they didn't help for shit, so I'm look for some actual advice, preferably with MSN and a webcam.

Fuck equipment, just play.

Rocka, basically start out doing them on the 5th fret on the G string. You basically need to have your thumb in a position where it clips the string just after you pick it. A way I find to do this is to sort of flick your right wrist anticlockwise as you play the string, so your thumb is angled towards the string after you have picked.

When I say clip the string just after you pick it, I mean literally JUST after, all one movement. It sounds a little complex but you just need to know the main principle of clipping the string with your thumb slightly. Keep playing around and trying to do them (move up and down the string with your right hand to find a good spot) and you will eventually find a way that works for you.

there are places you have to pick. eventually after you try to memorize (you dont have to if you practice often) you'd know where to pick for each fret.

practice on the G string. they're easiest to do on the G or B string.

They can be done anywhere, I started on the 3rd fret, low E string and have kept moving on, I can do em anywhere now.

Of coarse you can.

I can't really give anymore advice than what's already been said, a lot of it now is just trial and error.

Good luck!

PS: There's nothing wrong with being ignorant.

I didn't say they couldn't, they're easier to do on the G and B string and since he's trying to figure out how to do them, that's a good place to start.

Bump. I refuse to let this topic die!!

Anyways, I learned the first solo of Foreplay/Long Time by Boston a few weeks ago thanks to a friend of mine. After the long pause in the song. I'm proud of myself.
