HELLOOOOO!!!!!

I have been looking for a new computer, and now the choise is between two things:
Should I buy the more expensive quadcore so it doesn't get outdated as fast as a core2duo?

And which video card should I get, and 8800 GTS 320 or 640mb (I don't have a 22'' but a 17'' screen...... Keep that in mind) Or should I go with an Radeon HD X2900 XT!??!??!?

Please help me, and make clear statements why you think I should get what you say.

Buy a Core2Duo E6600 , and overclock it to 3,2ghz . Quad core = Overkill You dont need a quadcore for any game a core2duo is enough.

Get the 8800gts 320MB if you play on a resultion under 2000x something If you wanna play on resoultions over 2000x something you should buy the 640MB version.

Get an E6550, not the E6600. It has 1333 mhz fsb and the G0 stepping and it just owns at overclocking

dual cores are better than quad cores in gaming by the way.

because they made a made a 640 MB version, and they made a 100$ cheaper same exact card with half the memory, which is 320 MB

A quad core IS better than a core2duo That obv. But you just don't need a quad core. Tell me one game which NEEDS a quad core , so you can play it

No games need one, but a quad-core can be a good investment and based on what you do with your computer, a major time saver.

Basically, you should only get a quad core if you want to run ALOT of programs at once, OR do some seriously heavy workstation shit, like encoding very large videos and rendering and that kinda stuff.

Dual cores are much cheaper, run FASTER than quad cores in most games, run much cooler, take less power, and are more than enough for today's games.

Personally, I think that you should wait a few months for the Quad core to become more refined.. Right now, the dual core is better because it's more refined while the Quad Core is just brute force.. When they've optimised the Quad Core, then that will be superior.. And refering to you guys statements about games.. More and more games are starting to utilize all the cores such as Crysis and Supreme Commander.. IMO, a Core 2 Quad is much better than the dual core IF you're not planning on upgrading for a long time.. Otherwise, get the dual core.. I would personally recommend the E6600 'cause that's the one I'm getting..

As for your graphics card issue, if you're under a tight budget, get the HD2900XT.. If you have cash to burn, the either get the GeForce 8800 Ultra/GTX.. If not then get the 640MB GTS model 'cause you just need to spend like 100$ more for twice the memory.. Much better.. If I were you, I'd get a GeForce 8800 Ultra/GTX and a QX6700..
