3 Things I need help with in Vegas
« on: August 12, 2007, 05:31:25 AM »
Just a few things that I need help with.

1: For some unknown reason, when you open the window to edit your Generated Media / Video effects, instead of opening a thin framed window near the center of the screen, it now goes into the bottom right beside the video preview/media generators/effects etc.. so its all cramped up and small and I can't move it around, which is very annoying because I have to scroll everywhere.

2: Is there a thread or a post that can tell me exactly what settings I should film at and what settings I should edit my video with so it will work good for youtube? Ive looked through the pages havn't found one yet. Btw I use fraps full version and record "half screen", full screen is way to laggy. It turns out 400x300 even though my resolution is 1024x780 or w/e.

3:  How to make a clip cut to the marker, because when you drag it from the side you can't get it to the exact frame most of the time but you can find the frame with the line marker thing that goes down all the time tracks. I would like to be able to match a clip up to that marker.

Edit: 4: I have no clue how to use codecs.. I heard you need them to make your videos smaller and higher quality or they turn out crap, I have divx codec and I tried getting xvid but their website is completely retarded and when you download its just a bunch of random files in a folder. So can someone tell me how to save it with these codecs in it?? Or tell me what to do with it

1. Put your mouse to the left in the square where you can edit you Video FX's just right below those dots and drag it out of there.

2. There is a YouTube tutorial at YouTube.

3. huh...

I don't wanna open a new topic so I ask it here:
How can I move a whole series of clips in the vegas timeline? (you know at default i can only move the first piece, than it slides to the next one creating a transition)
Thanks for the answer!

It's not hard once you figure out the basics of it.
