Brandon's first ever sig
« on: July 14, 2007, 04:33:34 PM »

This is my very first ever Photoshop CS2 signature. like 6 layers i think. I know you cant really see the name, but I couldn't find a color that would stand out and not stand out too much.
Mostly people are going to say I didn't blend the render...Well because I'm a noob.

rate/hate, but give me some pointers(Put it in n00b language.)

Expect more stuff from me in the future.

Hmm. Nice signature Brandy.
The background could be much better though.

Could you be more constructive? Tell me how? I know probably less bushes. I cant get the background to stay one color. It changes as I change other layers.

Well, sorry Brandon, but I'm not Photoshop expert.
But I think the background could be a bit darker and stuff.

CS sucks.  Sig sucks, but use word sucks as a motivation  no use of asking something when you post the sig, like suggest or shit, read tut's.

Its nice man, maybe less detail in the background, try making the brush bigger. Also try adding a border to the text so its readable. Nice job tho

You want something constructive.

Its much fucking better than my first photoshop sig. The background is too much colour for my liking and it makes the text hard to read. Next time right click your text layer and select blending options , then select stroke to black with 1 pixel. For the background , you should keep it in one colour but different shades of light and dark. The render was pretty good actually but if you want to fade it :
The way i do it is : after you render it when you press make selection choose feather by say 10-15 then press ok , that normally works for me. That sig would actually look better with a border around it too.

Its good for a first sig , id say 5/10.
Keep it up and you'll get better.

Phew that was a lot of typing.

Not bad, but some constructive criticism:

- Highlight the background layer, hit Ctrl + U, and then lower the contrast a little bit.
- Get out a normal round brush, about 30px with a softness of 0% and opacity of 60-70%, and go round the edges with it, should automatically blend the render.

Keep making signatures, its good fun and you're sure to get much better.

heres two more i made when my internet was out today. just had some random renders laying around.

Looks like christmas

best one yet

Can somebody tell me how to make transparency around the bottom. Forinstance having the female warriors sword and legs showing, and the forum color behind it.

i know i could probably have the sig bigger and just put the forum color around it but i want transparency down there.

Also how do I make slanted text, for instance the text going down a samurai's sword

another
