GTASL3: Final Four - Demonfade vs. Daffy
« Reply #91 on: May 25, 2007, 04:51:12 PM »
Challenge 1:

Daffy's Stunt: Outstanding distance!! Run up on those boats are pretty piss poor if I do say so myself. The most impressive thing was the 630-something2grind. The grind was executed very cleanly and you maintained your balance very well. Its too bad you didn't make it all the way across the rail though.

Demonfade's Stunt: Similar rotation as Daffy's but the bump off a plain ramp was less impressive. Run up for that stunt it pretty crummy as well and you did grind as far as you could've gone. However, I think Daffy's BSM was more impressive, more difficult and overall a better stunt than this one.

My vote for challenge 1 goes to Daffy.

Challenge 2:

Daffy's Stunt: You know, the run-up in that area seems pretty good, but the ally you go through is a pain the ass. There's random imperfections in the road and boxes to navigate through. Otherwise the run-up is enormous so you expect awesome height. Landing on that high ass roof is also tough since it is fairly small and there isn't a secondary roof to land on if you overshoot. Its something I do where I aim for certain roofs that are boardered by others in case I overshoot or fall off.

Demonfade's Stunt: Outstanding distance and height!! You had plenty of run-up and your run-up was smoother than Daffy's. Both landings were really tough but the edge in that department goes to you DF. Not only is the bridge a fairly small target (width wise), there's a gaping hole in the middle where the road splits and there are barriers to mess up your landing. You hit one such barrier when you landed.

My vote for challenge 2 goes to Demonfade.

Challenge 3:

Checks challenges: I didn't say "car grind" did I?

Daffy's Stunt: Upside down grinds are pretty darn awesome. The grind was nice and pretty long. You had good balance as well which I like to see in grinds.

Demonfade's Stunt: It really looked like you just didn't have enough time for this one. If you had not hit that tree your grind might have been longer than Daffy's and you might've had my vote for this one. Buuuuuttttttt...

Daffy gets my vote for Challenge 3.

To recap:
Challenge 1: Daffy
Challenge 2: Demonfade
Challenge 3: Daffy

Just for what it's worth, my P2B bump has an angle so it usually throws you away from the building, that was the 3rd time in 4 days i got the angle i needed, the other was an overshot and a slip-off.
Also the other crap outside the stores mess up the camera angle so it's kinda hard to see when you're gonna hit the bump.
The angle used to record it was horrible and made it look a lot easier than it was, the stats i got was 246-133ft if i remember correctly.
And not to be bitchy but those "barriers" you talked about works more like a ramp

Just in case you were thinking something else i'm not trying to change the judges minds, only let them know the difficulty of my "main" stunt

Barriers = obstacles, kinda fucks with your landing anyway. I saw the reps though before I made my decision and i've tried stunts in that spot and the little overhangs on the stores messes with the camera angle. Just letting you know what went through my little head when I saw the reps and clips.

Let me do a roll call for everyone first. I thought someone said they couldn't vote but that may have been last week. I'd say, get the reps/vids and make your decision. Post it ONLY if I say someone dropped out.

Haha they are a bitch and it's why Eddeman never bothered to land that stunt. Sorry about the car grind I did have a longer one but I didn't like it my loss I suppose. As for the combo grind I found it ironic I did a daf challenge against him. Lots of love DaF-fy! Thank you for the video also. Good luck man. Our stunts were similar yet so different.

Challenge 1:

Daffy's Stunt: very sweet rotation before the grind, and it was also done from BSM, which made it a lot harder to get on the rail. but the fact you got stuck is a big minus.

Demonfade's Stunt: awesome spin2grind, that grass ramp is pretty tricky and you had to go much to the right. the landing also was tricky

My vote for challenge 1 goes to Demonfade.

Challenge 2:

Daffy's Stunt: very tricky p2b. you had a small area to bump and the wall at your right, so you needed to go only up, no ft left. the roof also wasn't small. hard p2b great executed.

Demonfade's Stunt: the run-up you had was enormous, so even tho the distance was big, it wasn't THAT big. the landing zone seemed tricky but landing on BB still would've been better.

My vote for challenge 2 goes to Daffy.

Challenge 3:

Daffy's Stunt: nice car grind, it was not that short and you grinded it till the end. the rotation on the grind was the thing i didn't really liked, but it was still a nice grind.

Demonfade's Stunt: you were going to a grind, but you got some spin on the rail and it was short, so i can't really call it a grind. Daffy got some spin too, but it was different and his stunt was more grind-alike.

Daffy gets my vote for Challenge 3.

Challenge 1

Daffy: Crazy distance and spin in the air and a pretty smooth grind, it looked really sweet. Shame you got stuck, grinding to the end would have made it that much sweeter.

Demonfade: You got a nice spin from that ramp, and the grind was at a hard angle. Grinded all the way to the end (even if it wasn't that long of a grind) and a little spin at the end.

My vote goes to Demonfade

Challenge 2

Daffy: The bump has a real tricky angle (I know from experience) that makes it hard to get the right direction, you had real nice air movement and it looked impressive.

Demonfade: Another tough packerbump (that I also know from experience, lol) with a lot of distance. Awesome landing on that one, though I was a bit bummed that there wasn't any rotation on the stunt itself.

My vote goes to Demonfade on this one, by the width of a hair. Both had really nice stunts.

Challenge 3

Daffy: A clean grind even though the car was rotating a bit, very well executed and I don't think it could have been done much better.

Demonfade: It was a nice idea, but not very well done. I would have liked to see a bit more of a grind, though there wasn't much wrong with the small part you managed to grind.

My vote goes to Daffy

To recap (haha copypasta):
Challenge 1: Demonfade
Challenge 2: Demonfade
Challenge 3: Daffy

Whoa! Put in work, if ya scared go to church. Hardcore stunts from both of you.  By far the best match until date. Although I think that your car grind didn't share the same greatness of your other stunts, Demonfade.

Challenge 1:

Daffy's Stunt: A perfect side bsm to grind. The bsm looked like it would have been quite difficult, needing the perfect line towards the grind, and the rail the bsm was on possibly making it difficult also. The airtime was beautiful, with lots of bike movement. The grind itself was great also, nice speed. Sure you didnt make it the whole way, but you made it most of the way, and you got stuck on a common spot which is often difficult to get past. Very nice combo stunt - and the fact that its a water gap makes it look cooler too.

Demonfade's Stunt: A nice natural grass bump to grind. The bump was executed quite well - you managed to pull off that angle needed to get ya onto the grind, which looked tough to do, especially considering the limitations of the runnup. The airtime was also quite nice, with good bike movement once again, which adds to the impressive-ness of the combo. The grind itself wasn't massive, but it made use of what was available - grinding all of the way to the end.

My vote for challenge 1 goes to Daffy. To me his grind combo was a more impressive one. The water hazard, the boat gap idea, the more airtime movement, the longer grind. Still, great stunts both of you, well done.

Challenge 2:

Daffy's Stunt: You had a maxi-big runnup, and thus I am glad to see that you utilised it really really well - in that your stunt had great distance and amazing height. I am sure the runnup was difficult, it looked like those two poles near the packer would have been the cause of many failed attempts. The pb itself looked hard, with that tiny little ledge thing to bump off. Also, the air movement was great too, sweet rotation you got there. It was a really great pb stunt, perfectly executed, with great height and distance, and a nice landing on a bloody tall roof to finish it off.

Demonfade's Stunt: Well that sure is one crazy replay file to watch - I had to settle watching the video to cast my vote for this, because the slowmo was distracting me  . Another 'big' pb stunt, with a long runnup and another massive bump. This time it was more about distance than height. For the landing there was a relatively large amount  of landing space so I was happy to see it landed so perfectly - the gap and spin was very cool. It was a bit lacking in the bike movement through the air department, but I guess it makes sense considering how much distance you needed.

My vote for challenge 2 goes to ... well, this one was tough to vote for, both were great stunts. I am going to give my vote to Daffy. It  was a combination of a few things that put his over the line for me - the outragous height and still quite good distance, the awekwardness of the (small) bump and the line, and the airtime bike movement. A great match right here, t'was very tough to choose my preffered stunt, as both were perfectly done and  both looked very cool.

Challenge 3:

Daffy's Stunt: That was a perfectly executed car grind combo man. Even though to some people it may not look too hard, I had tried this myself many times and I know it can be a tough cookie to get 'just right' - especially due to the tight gap to fit through at the end. Anyways, a nice bump, a nice half flip across the roof, a nice rooftop grind across the length of the wall, and a nice landing. This is a very good looking stunt, well done on nailing it so well.

Demonfade's Stunt: Another nice idea that I have tried enough to know of its difficulty. The natural bump often only gives you just enough height, so to pull off a good grind you need to hit that sloped early part of the rail just right. And you did hit it pretty good, its just a shame that the tree fucked you up so much. Sure the rotation brought about by it was kinda cool, it was nowhere near as cool as a completed (or even just 'more' completed) grind.

My vote for challenge 3 goes to Daffy. To me his nts was more impressive because it was so flawlessly executed. The half flip, the roof, the upsidedown grind, and making it through the gap at the end. Demonfade's was a sweet idea, and I am sure, if completed fully (which I am sure would take more time than this challenge allowed) would look fantastic.

To recap:
Challenge 1: Daffy
Challenge 2: Daffy
Challenge 3: Daffy

Great work both of you on a great match! Good luck to the winner in the finals.
And thanks for the vote template NoAP
