Neo: if you landed a really sick stunt, like p2b2grind2grind2precision (i know you aint a big grind fanatic but just an example) but you had to ground grab to avoid bailing, would you do it and then use it in a vid ?

v     thats why i asked it, cause he made a topic about groundgrabs once, but if it was a really really sick stunt, like, the best in whole history of stunting..
Absofuckinlutely NOT! I've done a shitload of stunts to tight spots where I could have just gotten away with that weak shit. I don't care if it takes me days to finally get it right but I WILL NOT DO THOSE DAMN THINGS.

I was gonna say "put the brake on and land it", but Neo would suspend me again >_>

I've seen Neo do some kick-ass grabs in vids before so he isn't a stranger to it, but don't recall him ever doing a stunt where he did a grab to avoid bailing...

Would ANY of ATS do a grab to avoid a bail I wonder, even if there is no real alternative (example: big fucking solid wall at the end of a grind, you are zooming along the bastarding rail faster than a bird shit falls through the sky - lovely stunt but bail or grab?)
Again Absofuckinlutely NOT! I'll either land it properly or let the stunt go.

With a nicely executed grab it looks nice, for example Tackleberry's one from Bamboocha. Though I guess it was intended. But mostly when it's like getting off from the bike, few steps, and getting back again, it just ruins it.

I would never do a grab to avoid a bail. i love to do airgrabs on my pizzaboy but if I do them, they are intentional and placed. I like to include airgrabs in stunts but they have to make a stunt look nice, not compensate for hard stunts to make them easier.

Well, he did do it without the grab but the grab made it look cooler.

Despite it occurring to me as an option perhaps while trying a bastard stunt over and over [such as my LC 'unicorn' from Found, and that I finally landed for the SL], I'd usually opt for not doing it, on the off chance that I actually ruin an attempt that I would have landed perfectly if I hadn't tried to do it.

For example, I remember a long time ago I was working on a tough grind, and got to the stage where I was trying the occasional grab at the end, and it just so happened that I tried one (and heck, I didn't even pull it off properly, I got off, but didn't get back on before hitting the ground) on the one occasion that I would have successfully made it to the end without crashing. I know that because Tommy didnt actually get off until after I hit the wall (and didn't crash). So all I had for myself was a perfect stunt where at the end of the grind I hopped off my bike like an idiot  .

Perhaps that's one of the reasons why I, as I said before, opt not to do them nowadays, because that's a perfect example of fucking up a great stunt by doing one. Or perhaps its just because they don't look as good as when landed without them. (Probably a combination of 'em both). But hey, never say never, I could still do one sometime in the future, but I would probably have a good reason, either relating to keeping my sanity, or because in my mind it actually (somehow) looks cooler with one.

The private section here isn't used very often because there is also a private ATS forum on another website that does get used. And yes, they did used to have a public ATS forum on a different website aswell, I remember being an avid member of it, and even using some of the challenges/ideas posted there in my earliest videos.

Doing the grind on the bridge in LC that appeared in Connected, I thought for a while I'd have to maybe grab at the end of it...I was skittling along that rail so fast that a clean landing would have been a big ask. Thankfully the bike grabbed 10ft from the end

i know this is usually ask ats but I cant be fucked to make a topic for this and i know a few people read this and if a fellow ats member helps me than it was ask ats..

Anyways, i am trying to force a windowed mode on spoosh without success. I need help, i tried various programs with no results. I have very little time this summer to stunt but I want to stunt, at least land one or 2 things....

Hmm, good question. I just double checked with the tool I use for windowed mode (3DAnalyse), and yep, same problem, can't get 'em to work together. Never was a problem for me since I only want windowed when modding, not stunting, and don't use spoosh anyways - but nevertheless, I can see it would be quite annoying for someone who did want both.

I just did a quick look around GTAF to try and see whether or not its possible, and whether or not its been done. The best I could find was a thread which seemed that it "might" (I'm not sure) be discussing a similar problem to yours:

(Topic Title) "multiple d3d9.dll's": http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=348544

To me most of the stuff in there didn't make much sense, but I dunno, maybe you can understand it, or perhaps post there yourself asking for help with the specific 3DAnalyse & Spoosh combo problem you have.

EDIT: If worst comes to worst, and you can't find a way for them to run together, perhaps instead of finding a window-forcing program that isn't dll-based (it might not be possible? I dunno?), you'd be better off trying to find a car spawning program/trainer that isn't dll-based (because that should be possible).

It's supposed to be 23d8.dll

To ATS: For a grind would you keep redoing the whole stunt just to get the full rail without a bail at the end or if you got stuck: halfway would you keep it? 10ft off - would you keep it?

I'd try the whole thing for a while, then if I got it yay and if not id use the bad version. I wouldnt be happy using it though.

I've gone with stuck grinds in the past, but usually only if the grind is annoyingly difficult to do. Typically I tend to try for the whole rail.

Editing wise it was about a fortnight, if memory serves. I'm not terribly anal when it comes to editing.
