Is Herr-Dav' having German roots or some kinda relation?
Daksad, was your SA solo intentionally called Untolerant or was it just a typo (U is next to I on keyboards)?
Daffy did you try HandBrake for compressing yet? What are your thoughts about it?

I can't say I have, it's just a GUI (graphical user interface) though and not a new codec so quality or performance-wise it's not going to make a difference, it's just a different layout to how you configure the same codec(s).
However, I'm thinking about testing DXTory instead of Fraps to see if it has an impact on the file sizes as all SSD's apparently takes a dive down to shit-town for 5 minutes after one recording due to buffer and placement issues on the writing side of the performance scale.

Yee, cool. Tbh I just thought it's way easier as one doesn't have to install that much tools, make a script 'n such.
I didn't even update the firmware of my Vertex 4 yet, but I couldn't really notice much of a drop when making several recordings in a row (+ directly putting it together in Vegas). Well but then again - I didn't monitor it.

I'm recording in 2560x1440x32 and with the lossless RGB option in Fraps enabled, that makes a huge impact on the requirements.

Why don't you render in the same resolution? Would be epic.

^How? He records in the highest possible resolution for his monitor, I'm guessing and to record in 8k you would need an 8k monitor and you won't find one of those under 60" with a price below $10k+ and especially not with a 1:1 ratio.

You could force 8k but you would need a graphics card that supports it, and no such card exists :cc_detective:

^ You can force games to render at a certain resolution that gets scaled down to fit whatever your monitor supports. ENB for GTA IV has the option to render at higher resolutions and then scale down to make things less jagged afaik.

The GFX-mod for Dark Souls has the same option, I used it to render at 2560x1440 for my 1080p screen.

Is there any possibilites to have a desktop in that resolution? Because I'd love to have such a resolution on my desktop. I've got a 27" 1080p monitor. And I hate having the 1080p resolution with a 27"
