It's prolly gonna be like the normal high quality games..

512MBs Ram min. and 1gb ram max.
Both you and me know that you shouldn't lie to yourself mate. It's around 4 times more hardware-using than the HL2 engine, which is REALLY much.

I'd say around 2gb RAM min, 3ghz min. And a really good GFX card.
2GBs ram min? bullshit.. I highly doubt they'd make it that much computer/ram usage... nobody would buy it if it did.

What's great about having a shitty computer is that you don't care what the required specs are... you don't have them!

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come out on PC after the Hot Coffee incident. Either way I won't be able to play IV. My GFX card overheats on SA with the settings maxed AND a custom fan on.

i doubt its overheating, if it is, new cooling is cheap...

you could do hot coffee on all versions of the game with gameshark or such

My guess is that GTA IV won't get a PC release. Yes, GTA's biggest money spinner has been for PC, but keep in mind that the early GTAs were initially released on the PC, THEN ported to consoles. More and more I can see PC gaming dying out and consoles becoming the primary source for gaming. Due to this theory, I don't think R* will go to the trouble of porting a game to PC that will invariably enjoy greater console success. This is probably why we won't see LCS or VCS on the PC either.

GTA's PC days may already be over...

I doubt that. Its done in the other way - Developed on pc, transferred to console, crypted, done
Basicly every console game developed for consoles like ps1,ps2,psp,dreamcast,xbox,xbox360 can be run on a pc.. You really think they comiple and transfer all the time when they change tiny things in the code? (thats what nintendo does afaik)
Xbox1 games are developed like this: You have the XDK running on your pc, you can see the same picture on PC and Xbox (DirectX8) and when you are done you compile your code to xbox only code...
The Xbox360 does it the same way i think. Atleast the XDK has the ability to convert Console applications and DirectX10 Games to full XNA engine applications (If the code is suitable for the xbox360)

---

oh and maxwell: Xbox360 is using XNA - even for homebrew.. (which supports DX10 - Even the first xbox games used that engine... in the end even the xbox 1 ran DirectX9 codes by wrapper..)

yeah, but the videocards in the xbox360  do not support DX10

I am running vista, Vista supports DirctX10, my computer does not because my 7800GT only has DX9 support, and you can not give it dx10 support.

long story short, you cam emulate a lot of DX10 in DX9 but it wont  be true, and the xbox360 will never see directX10

if you wanna know if you come close to running GTAIV on PC...open up SA and turn everything up...put all your AA power into your little card  , and if it lags, you will NOT run GTAIV

Cause its XNA -.-

Youll never see Sony GU on PC - will you? Fact: XNA has the same functions as directX 10 and renders it the same way - it freeking doesnt matter how you call it...

Oh and for the pc hardware needed - i m sure it will be really high - its still 1 year or sumfin so you cant say which gfx cards etc we will have and i m also quite sure it will require more than 3ghz..

aff, for pc it will be released in at LEAST a year, and by then almost everyone will be on vista, and almost everyone will be on DX10. yes, even now they have started making low spec DX10 gfx cards. so the pc port will have, i'm sure, a widely scalable amount of detail and will only be playable with DX10. at the moment the average gaming rig runs a 6600, 3200+ and 512mb of ram. in a year it will probably be a dx10 card that runs at the same speed as a 7950gx2, a cpu the speed of an e6300-400 and 2 gig of ram. so even the average gaming pc in a year should run games like TDU or crysis on a good resolution and with HDR. pcs at the moment are already miles ahead of ps3/xb360; keep that in mind.

I think, the GTA4 Graphic don't looks so much better than the Graphic of Half Life 2, and Half Life 2 runs on the highest settings on my PC, so i think, GTA4 will also run on my PC, even if i just can play at the minimal settings.

Theres a huge difference in the rendering from GTA and halflife...

GTA has a much bigger view distance etc so you cant really compare both. Also in the lastest games the Rendering only took like 10% of the GPU +  10% CPU power. The rest is spent doing collision checks and other hard math + AI. Its not really what you can see which matters.

i play battlefield 2 all settings on full 4xAA 100% draw distance 1280x1024
on a 64 player server no lag at all.
so i think i could possibly play GTA IV maybe not maxed.
but still run it
