Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
« on: December 27, 2006, 05:02:45 AM »
I hope everybody's festive season goings on...happend and well.....I had an idea of how I would Monster Dynamcis into the community. Basically through this topic I will post a selection of replays i went around taking, giving examples of the method etc. People can download and checkout the replays, try it themselves and then post any questions they have. I will then answer any questions

The Process:
1. I post replays
2. You test it out
3. You ask questions if you dont get it (or are a lazy bugger)
4. I will post replays, screenshots, videos or whatever is needed to try and answer your question

Posted Files:
- Original set of replays (22, including reps from "Now, Fading From View")
- Live Recording Clip

Questions and Answers:
Q- I'll like to know how much time should i stay on a car before enter in it?
A- With getting in, to get an effect you only need to get onto the car for a few seconds. The longer you go onto the car the greater the charge but also you increase the damage done to the car which might make it explode when you set it off. The best technique ive found is to find cars that are tougher and do multiple quick charges rather than a single long charge. The going into the ground is dependant on the surface, i think, i havent 100% worked that out yet

Q- So basically you drive a monsters wheel into oncoming traffic, if you dont get kicked into the air, get in that car and boom up you go?
A- To charge you need to mount the car without doing damage to it, if it gets damaged it will buckle under the weight of the wheel rather than not moving. Once a car is damaged or "popped" it cannot be used

Q- Can it be done on a PS2?
A- Yes, it can

Q- My problem is, that the wheel of the monster don't get in the car, it is getting ON the car ... do you know, how i can handle this? When Kr3m does it the wheel just sinks right in. and goes right through.
A- The wheel is supposed to go onto the car. The replays are just weird and show it going into the car, in reality my wheel goes onto the car

Q- Whenever I drive the Monster´s wheel onto a car, the car slowly slides away. What am I doing wrong?
A- Im guessing you already 'pop' the car with your first touch, you have to get onto the car without doing this. Cars with low fronts are best, pretty much any sedan. Dont bother with most trucks etc, their tops are too high

Q- Does the car have to have a npc driving or can you use any old spawned car to charge up? What is npc driving?
A- There needs to be an npc in the car. Basically a ped controlled car, the ones that spawn as traffic

Q- Id like to have some hints about the glitch involving the MTB... everytime i try i fall by the MTB and i go launched without bike. any cool advice??
A- Well i find launching the car with a smg is best. As for staying on the MTB its all luck, i tried alot of times for the stunt in my movie, its just luck mostly. Using the mountain bike is the best bicycle, CJ is more likely to stay on it

Q- Could you go into detail with acceleration techniques. Do I hit the car going fast? Slowly roll onto it? Roll towards it, then accelerate onto it and up the hood?
A- The technique I use it to stop in front of the car, so that it stops as well. Then accelerate just enough to get me onto the flat front of the car. If you accelerate too much you will pop it, and if you got too little it wont be the wheel onto the car.

Q- Would you say that limo's are a good vehicle to try doing it with? Are they easier to do it get onto and charge without popping... do they yeild better results...?
A- My reference to the limo as a good car to use is if you are going to launch the monster you are in. As a long car I think there is more of the car that pushes against the monster to launch it.

Dammit .rep files. I cant watch those...
I've seen all the other vids, is this really just driving the monster onto the hood of a car? And if it doesn't get damaged, you go through the bonnet, 'charge' it. Is that just it?

Can it be done on a PS2?

The charging process is the driving onto the hood of the car, or any other part of the vehicle as long as you dont "pop" it by damaging it

I had a bit of a try at it. Is there any secret to getting on the car without it just squeezing out? Doesnt seem to happen for me.
BTW. You're from Melbourne! Which part? Power to the Victorians.
