iv downloaded the last versions of fraps: 2.7.4, 2.8.0, 2.7.2, 2.8.1
and it doesnÃ‚Â´t start.

only old versions and from original site.

Try Ctrl + Alt + Delete, then search for Fraps.exe. Close that, restart, then try to open it up again.

@Venom, trust me we've both probably tried that. I have definatly and it still doesn't work. It's so fucked up, it isn't even IN the proccess list.

I had the same problem once, it was because I had ever installed the free version of Fraps, and then illegaly downloaded the full version. So I couldn't run Fraps and I had to use the free version again.

I fixed that when I had a new comp. So you need to delete a file on your HDD (I don't know the which fucking one) which tells the computer you illegaly downloaded Fraps.

Get a new HDD

EDIT : If you download the newest version of Fraps which you hadn't own in its freeware version it will also fix the problem

guys i figure out.

1st: Fast e 100% accurete, C: FORMAT (for me hell no)

2nd: unistall any version of fraps retailed, cracked or even a free trial.
delete all content inside the directory, if u cantÃ‚Â´t reboot and delete.
delete all files from wnidows\temp
delete frapsvid from windows\system 32
open regedit and search for both "fraps" and "fps1" (minus the quotation marks) and delete anything it comes up with. You then need to find all the keys I have listed below and delete them as well. The last entry is a file that will be in your temp folder, it wouldnt hurt to delete all the *.tmp files whilst you're at it.

THIS ONE WORKS FOR ME!!!

Well i encountered the same exact problem as you...for some reason my full version did not work. Well after spending about 2 hours googling for help I was unsuccessful at getting anything except for a few extra trojans. So i decided to hack at it by myself. I have found the cure!!! I have yet to read a cure for this so i believe i might be the first to find it...at least i hope so..its like finding a lost treasure or something...anyways...here is the solution:

1. Make sure you have the full version installed and the trial uninstalled...Get a program called regmon or Registry Monitor http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html
2. Run the program, if you aren't familiar with it then don't be scared..i wasn't either...once you start the program, minimize the screen and then double click on your fraps icon...maximize your RegMon window...you'll notice that a whole bunch of crap for fraps starts popping up...after the fraps entries stops hold down "Ctrl" and then hit "E"...this will stop anymore entries from getting on the list...

3. Now there is probably a huge list of crap on this RegMon window...scroll through all of them till you get to the section where the fraps process took place...go through all of the fraps entries until you find one that looks something like this:

"HKLM\Software\Licenses\{I7F9ECD69182A4E6B}" -numbers might be different
there might be more then one..i had 2...my numbers were:

HKLM\Software\Licenses\{I7F9ECD69182A4E6B}
HKLM\Software\Licenses\{07F9ECD69182A4E6B}

4. Open up your Registry Editer (start, run, regedit)...go to HKey Local Machine, Software, Licenses...here are a list of apps that use licenses..now find the ones that you tracked down in RegMon...be sure they are the exact same and then delete them...be sure to make a back up of the registry before deleting anything out of it...

5.!!!!!!!!!Run with the regedit and remon opened!!!!!!!This should do the trick...if for some reason it still doesn't work..uninstall fraps completely and then repeat the above steps...

Alright, that was a lot of typing but don't be scared..its not a lot of work...after reading, God knows how many forums, i found that there were no other working solutions posted on the net..so i hope that this works for everyone else as it did me...please be careful though with the registry..its not something you want to mess up...so don't go deleting files at random and MAKE SURE that the licenses are the same as the ones used during RegMon under the fraps process...keep on recording them games fellas...

another note: you have to keep regedit open when you are deleting the numbers from regedit.
