Virus problem...goddamnit!!!
« on: November 23, 2006, 06:49:49 AM »
Goddamn I have a virus problem. The problem is this:
When I open my PC and start, whatever I want to do, this warning bubbles come out. There's saying:'' Crittical System error. Your PC is infected with virus and sypware and all that stuff, click this bubble to get a free antivirus sofware.'' ok whatever, I click the ballon, download some antivirus and it's scans for free, but it can't delete, because I need to buy it. There's another bubble showing btw...it says that my System Performance has been Slowed by 39% and my internet has been slowed down by 47%. And now, it's says that my disc space  is low. Now, does anyone know any good antivirus program for this, because I don't want to lose all my stuff/I don't want to format it. But can I do this alone?(To delete something in Registry or anything similiar?)

Please help me dudes....

First of all Never Ever click anything that comes up like that.  Even if it looks like a Windows Messenger System Dialog box, it can do harmful things.  Your best bet is to just click the X in the top corner, because if you click elsewhere chances are you are prone to things, like dialing 1-900 numbers without even knowing it, which are express lines here in the US and cost about $50 per 2 minutes.

If you go with an antivirus program, AVG works.  But if you buy one, go with Symantec, that is not Norton, but Symantec itself.  Macafee likes do be stupid about things a lot with permissions and stuff.  Symantec does the best IMO.

AntiVir is the only thing you'll never need when it comes to anti-virus protection or go by Fugitive, and use Kaspersky, it's quite brilliant too.
