(Sorry for off-topic, but...)
@All you who have doubts about x264:

The high-res I rendered for "Out Of Reach" was wmv, and very good settings. I rendered a new version today, with Daffy's tutorial, and you can actually see a HUGE difference just by watching screenshots. This is what I mean:

Original screenshots:
WMV
x264

(Both versions are on about the same filesize)
Those pics are pretty meaningless since they are saved as JPEGs and are of different frames.
But still, you get the point. Well, it depends on how you make up the settings for wmv's, we gotta (Err, daffy gotta) find another small and highquality rendersetting.

I don't understand why people need to install new codecs... Just get VLC, it's the best media-player which can almost play everything.

@liviu Nah.. All other MP4 videos work fine for me and with VLC too, this one is off synch, terrible quality, not even watchable, even tried it on 2 other computers.

Well, for me and my crappy comp, whatever is not playable in windows movie maker is just not worth downloading (WMM is the best video player for bad computers by some really weird reason...).

So I'll just wait for WMV ^^

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Please dude - you will end up getting more downloads for your vid if you do this - so why not[/span]

^you said it.

Personally I don't think its worth fucking around several people just so a couple of people see a ever so tiny increase of quality.

IF ITS NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT!

Oh,wierd then.I played it perfectly with VLC,however i guarantee its not the codecs fault nor is it a VLC issue.Try re-downloading it,who wouldnt want better quality with the same (or lower) file size,x264 seems okay.

Actually you will find that it is the codec or VLC causing the problem because it is an amateur program which isn't 100% compatible with all systems.

True...myself counted among them. Okay, so we'll drop the debate over codec and player superiority or inferiority and just await any possible second render of this vid. If it doesn't come, then so be it. It's Aenima's vid, and he can render however he wants. For those who aren't interested in installing the VLC player, or for those who have trouble playing it...just leave your requests for a different version of the vid, and leave it at that. I don't wanna see this thread turn into a battle of the codecs.

That said...a wmv version would be appreciated  ;)
