VC introduction help
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:30:02 AM »
Heyho GTAS, I'm getting started a little more in VC since Oasis and will try to nail some stunts every now and then. Well for SSU videos mainly, but I'd try to be in collaborations etc. too if I happen to have some more lol.

Basically I'm just having 2 "problems" which bug me a little. And a little request too. I'm willing to give out some credits for solutions/outcomes if it matters something to you. Help is much appreciated.

My first problem is that I can not enable 1920x1080p resolution in VC. It works just fine in GTA3 & SA, but not in VC lol. Is there some patch/mod/trick or something? The maximum I can choose in-game is 1440x900p.

In the resolution options on the desktop it's available.

1920x1080p is not listed as PC resolution in the nVIEW-panel though. When I hit the "Adjust..." ("Anpassen...") button, I can only add resolutions to the HD, SD category or as user-defined. They both do not work in-game, so I reckon it somehow gotta get enabled in the PC resolution category since 1440x900p is listed as highest there.

The other problem is the FPS-rate while recording. Whenever I start a recording, the FPS drop down to like 8-10 and stay constantly at that value. I did not lock the frame-rate in Fraps' options, nor inserted a custom amount. I just tick the 30 FPS thing. The version of Fraps I use is 3.2.3 if that helps.

And here's the other little thing. It's not I badly want nor need a PCJ skin, but I'd appreciate it if somebody is willing to try to make me one. I've inserted a picture of the Tommy I got, so you probably keep his look in mind. I'm not giving any restrictions, just try to make it fitting.

I can make the PCJ skin.

Btw wouldn't you want your PCJ to be same as your NRG ?

Well I could give you my NRG as reference if you wanna try that, but dunno if it'd be convertible. Also I dunno how a transparent PCJ would look like and if it'd look good with the Tommy. I guess something new would be better though, but I sure don't mind a draft of it.

Oh and something else I just stumbled across - anyone got that no-bushes mod for VC?

Thanks a lot plak! Gonna send ya some credits in a minute
Lolko, I do have enough space. SA (etc.) recordings are just fine, only in VC the FPS drop like that.

E: Ed, I knew it was possible, just wondering how it'd look in VC since a part of the NRG for example has no texture part by stock. That means it's black by default and non-transparent. I might watch some video including him later.

Yeah, I'd appriciate if you'd give your NRG. Having some problems with the brakes.  :|

@Fighter: No matter if I enable/disable any of the options shown on that tab. The FPS just keep dropping. I also tested another Fraps version, but it still does not work properly.

@Reaper: I sent you a PM.

Enable the 'Dont sync audio and video' option, that did the trick for me.

I had that 8FPS bug too and I remember fixing it, by going to the NVIDIA cp  and changing everything in the gtavc.exe 3dproperties , so I'd get the best performance (doesn't look different ingame).
Then I rightclicked on the gtavc.exe->properties-> run as admin  & comp mode win98.
After that , I could record with 30FPS.

Thanks a bunch, Sava! I figured it was the AA of the global nVIEW settings which caused that FPS drop. A shame that VC doesn't offer an own AA option, so there is a noticeable difference on the object edges now whereas no AA is applied at all. Would be good to achieve 1080p resolution now as compensation for that at least lol. There should be a way to get VC to work on maximum resolution along with max AA/AF/etc. though. At least I got rid of that annoying FPS stuff now. Thanks for your advice too, Genyus, but I messed with Fraps around before and none of those options changed a thing. The resolution thing still bugs me ^^
