Neat, the atmosphere in that trailer is a tad darker than F3, closer to the mood of the original Fallout. Good thing it's not being developed by Bethesda either, there's a chance it might actually turn out good.

I see the NCR flag there, they seem to have expanded east a bit -- perhaps Obsidian are planning to revisit some elements of Van Buren? that would be understandable considering Avellone and Sawyer are involved in the development.

Other than that, this trailer doesn't really say anything about the game. Can't wait for some in-game footage.

Fallout 3 was fucking amazing, so this will no doubt be fantastic!

Here's an idea

SHUT UP...

I've seen screens of the 1st 2 fallouts and I'd rather slam my head into an airvent than play those "games"

Fallout 3 and oblivion are 2 fantastic games, only lacking in animations.

Of course new vegas will be good, it's being developed by Obsidian   Obsidian owns, I have a giant man crush on Chris Avellone, fallout 3 was an ok game but the story was garbage

firefly: the engine will be the same, for better or for worse (I'm not really into the isometric thing, to be honest) but...

chris avellone

Hopefully this will have a better story than Fallout 3. I enjoyed playing it but mostly cause I like exploring stuff. I just took off in a random direction after I had been to Megaton the first time, and never really bothered with the story until I had played at least 10 hours :P

Have to get myself a new computer so I don't have to drop down to 5 fps when shooting stuff, other than that I'm excited even though this trailer didn't really say much.

I know, I was thinking more along the lines of overall game design; improving on the underdeveloped role-playing aspects and awful writing of F3 and whatnot. I don't really care whether it's isometric or first-person, but of course the antiquated engine will bring with it the general clunkiness of Bethesda games. I heard they might be tweaking some SPECIAL mechanics as well, but time will tell.

I wonder where this game fits in the Fallout timeline. Vegas seems to be very far along in rebuilding with all the city lights in the trailer, and NCR seems to have expanded some ways east, so it could be in the 2300s -- then again, that's pushing the term "post-apocalyptic" a bit, considering the Great War was in 2077. I'm thinking it'll precede F3, like Van Buren.

There are some good people working on it, definitely looking forward to it.
