I have heard many opinions of this, and now I want yours.

The situation : I have a free web hosting. It provides me shit load of everything, its IP address and FTP server. How the damn can I make it a game server? I uploaded the game installer, configured everything but I can't start the server. How can I do it?

P.S. don't tell me "Google and stfu", because I googled alot, asked on that game forum, tried shit load of things, and bla.

You need either a root server or a game server for that, you can't run a game server on a normal ftp, not even if the ftp has an ip adress(which every ftp has), since a ftp is only like a virtual hdd.

I'm presuming its a linux server, in which case request SSH access, chances are they will give you a jailed-shell, you probably won't have the permission to run the daemon though.

Can you provide me a link to this "free hosting"?
You should consider buying a VPS though, prolly alot less problems.
