Oh my god
« on: July 28, 2008, 08:58:59 AM »
Just came back from a LAN  and wanted to play SA. I played it for like 3mins then it completely froze and I tried again. It was always on 0FPS even when I play CS 1.6. Then I thought "wtf why???" And noticed that my CPU and GFX Zalman fans are not running. I shut down the PC as fast as I could  It's been running for about 6hours already and I just forgot to connect the GFX and CPU fans.

Is my Graphic Card and CPU hugely damaged now? I'm afraid...

They SHOULD be fine, most boards and cards have a very very high temperature failure rate. unless like, any components melted it should be okay. Thats funny though hahah I had that shit happen to my PC alot cause the wiring on my two main CPU fans was loose, so sometimes it would just stop and I would have to slap it back into submission.

Both are connected properly now , checking temperatures first...

CPU : 35°
Mainboard: 42°
GFX : 50°

should be okay =D

Yeah modern CPUs have auto-shutdown once they reach a certain temp. Should be fine.

Just gonna say, your not good with computers, go get somebody with experience to do it. I sound like a asshole, but, its better then screwing it up yourself, cause if they do, you can get them to get you a new computer altogether.
