It should convert it automatically to a format most DVD players can read if you use the burn video disc option. I have Nero 6, so I can't tell you specifically how it works with 7, but just use the "make video disc" option and it should work on DVD players. No need for additional converters.

Most video players should support .avi -format. And at Nero, go to Picture and Video -> Burn DVD videofiles, I think that should be the right one for your use.

You shouldn't really make AVI to DVD converts, just download a DVD if possible, and use DVD Decrypter to burn it.

Apollo DIVX to DVD. Converts AVI files to DVD format. You can even choose to burn it to the DVD after it's done. I've used it for years, but now I don't need it as I have a DVD player that has a built in DIVX player so I just shove movies straight on to a media disk and play away on the TV. Apollo also allows you to set it to widescreen or your average display for TV viewing or there's always the DVD feature in Nero 7. I am using 8 at the moment though so I have forgot how exactly how to do it.

Well it's something i've used for ages. I also use another of their programs called "Apollo DIVX to PSP" which converts the DIVX/AVI movies and sends them straight to the PSP if connected. Yeah it's a good application and simple to use. Just look it up, Apollo divx to dvd.

Well I myself have never used menus but I do know Nero 7 had that feature as I used it once to create a DVD with a menu and a custom background with music playing in the background. Don't know what it's like to do with Nero 8 but might give it a try.
