C++ Programs?
« on: January 05, 2008, 04:16:38 AM »
Hello, i'm looking into starting to hack Gunz. I want to try to learn C++ to make my own private hacks. First off though could someone point me into a good, but free C++ program/compiler?(if not, torrents here I come) And a few good tuts if you know any.

Thanks.

Oh and the hacks will be DLLs.

Freeware C++ Dev tool?

Get http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

Or, if you want to follow the way the world of coding seems to be going, Microsoft do a free Express Edition of Visual C++ which is what I use.

look for the tutorials written by sheep and have a look at the vc-mp sourcecode
For developing the stuff you should try GCC and Notepad++ or just use Express versions or Dev-C++

Actually you will need alot more tools for what you call hacking: artmoney, tsearch, olydbg, ...
And you need alot of knowledge on the memory of Gunz and the win32 api - I recommend to make simple applications first

Yeah, I don't plan on making a hack right away, prolly in about a year or so.
I already have a list of addresses needed for hacking so i'm 0.1% there.
Prolly gonna find the Darkx.DLL source and check that out.

http://www.osix.net/modules/article/?id=728

That article might be usefull for you. Also I recommend starting with a console application as trainer.
Oh, and somehow I started C++ too 3 days back, so maybe we can learn together, I never wanted to learn the C style languages (well, I wrote some C on linux before using gcc) cause all IDEs were so overloaded - why didn't anyone tell me that there is a command prompt for the express studios?

Application hacks were patched.
