Weird Router
« on: July 10, 2007, 05:49:22 AM »
I have new router, now since 4 weeks or so. All was normal, since 1 week ago. I got sometimes an 3000ms+ ping, then I just needed to plug out and plug in back the cable and it worked fine then, with an 45ms ping. Today, I started the comp, all was also normal, but after sometime I noticed that I got an 3000ms+ ping again, so I plugged out and back in the cable, now like 4 times, but the 3000ms+ ping isn't gone. So everything I do on the net lags. Somebody can help me?

Oh I already asked the provider, they says, it's normal with DSL4000, but it isn't. Before I got that new router, because my old on is fucked up, I got an 45ms ping, without those 3000ms+ thingys.

Sounds really weird. There might be something wrong with your copy of that particular router. That's the only explanation I can think of.

I know now where it comes from. Everytime my brother is chatting over MSN or on a chat site, it lags. When he downloads than, it lags even more. So I think, I can't do anything, just wait until he's ready with that.

may be the firewall in the router or you might have to forward some ports.

I thought it was portforward.com which is the portforwarding site

Lol, I just plugged in my old modem and connected it with the new router and I got now an 45ms ping. The problem is, I got 3 computers here, but just 2 can be online at the same time. But, my father isn't much online, so he doesn't care.
