MSN Live Messenger: Error Code: 81000306
« on: April 06, 2007, 03:39:33 PM »
Me and a close friend of mine have both been having this problem on both of our computers.

Neither of us can SignIn to our accounts and the Error Code is 81000306.

I have looked for fixes and found one, that did not work.  And I went through help and support.

My firewall is not blocking it, nor is Symantec, nor is Adaware or Spybot.

Anyone encountered this problem before and fixed it?

Could I be missing something?

I hate using Web Messenger or Windows Messenger, and re-installs are not working either.

I just might have to get Trillian

Done a little googling and came across this:

http://amatterofdegree.typepad.com/a_matte..._windows_l.html

And here's what solved it:

- Click start
- Type: cmd (but don't hit Enter)
- Right-click cmd.exe when it appears under Applications
- Click Run As Administrator
- Type the following: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter

Then just sign into WLM; you don't even have to reboot.

That is the solution I came across before.  And it did not.  Thanks though.  I hope you can convert it and find more on this problem.

Okay I am trying that now, but it looks like its on a Vista OS.  I do not know how different the start menus are, but trying anyway.  Be back in a few with results, hopefully good ones.

EDIT:

Yeah that one is a Windows Vista fix.  I cannot repeat those operations on Windows XP.

Thanks though.  Searching for more stuff.

Check to make sure your time is correct, when I upgraded to vista my time went a year back and would not let me sign in, I know you haven't upgraded but just check it anyway.
