My parents/me needs a new GFXC
« on: February 06, 2007, 09:45:38 AM »
Ok me parents got a not so damn fast pc and i play on it when i'm not on myns

My pc is a really fast one but its upstairs and its bored to sit lonely in my room ...

So my parents pc is a :

Dell dimension 4600

Processor : Intel Pentium 4 Clock speed 2,66 GHZ
Ram : 1023 mb's
Graphics card : Geforce fx 5200 128mb , Clocked.

Now i wanna buy a new Graphics card for me and my parents ...

These cards are where i was thinkin of :

1 :

HIS Radeon X1300 256MB DDR2, IceQ Turbo, AGP8X, DVI/Tv-Out, Retail

Click for the link

2 :

HIS Radeon X1650PRO 256MB DDR2, IceQ, AGP8X, DVI/Tv-Out, Retail

Click for the link

So i know the X1650 is better but if i look at the specs of the 1300 i see that they are almost the same and the x1650 is a bit to expensive ...

So wich one should i choose and do you think i see some difference in SA and VC with the X1300 ??

thnks really thnks i need some help

Get the cheapest one.Dont get a £100 one.Look at specs.Match them to what you want.Look for the one you want to see if its cheap.Buy it.

Right now is about the worst time to buy a new GFX card unless your getting one of the very high end ones (8800GT's) because pretty much all current cards do not have support for DX10, only DX9 and lower, and Vista is built to use DX10 and many programs and games will be built around it in the future. However unless you are planning on not getting Vista in the near future, or have no interest in the latest games you might as well buy a decent mid-range card. I dont know too much about ATi cards but from what i can see is that either will run SA and VC perfectly on that system with pretty much max eye candy on.

and how can i run it then .. like

FL on

1280x1024
Very high
AA x4

because i just wanna know if the difference between the 5200 and the X1300 is big enough to upgrade that 5200 to a X1300 ..

thnks
