Great vid dude, the editing was good, and the music too. Stunts: 8/10. Wichita was better in my opinion.

Good job. ;)

Pokker Review by Misguided Angel

Video Name : Pokker
Author: Ghostchild
Landscape: San Andreas
Duration: 3:55
File Size: 45.1 MB

----------

Editing:

I've always been a fan of GC's videos due to the style that he always seems to throw at the viewer and how it can effect them, this video however does not seem to follow his regular style. It was mainly just audio synch based which isn't bad but when you compare it to his other video "Wichita" it falls short in comparison.

Synch wise its rather good, I don't rly mind music that I cant understand so your rather luck when it comes to that. A very soft outro with the credits played out with some Depeche mode was a nice touch also.

Overall its a rather good video on the editting front however I did have some issues with the darkess on some stunts and a little bit of choppy pixellatedness in the video itself, but those are minor issues.

8.2/10

Stunts:

This is were I really compared it with "Wichita" and I had to, cause your trying to better your own work. I find you did that well, but it didnt shock me as much as "Wichita" did. I felt as if I had seen these stunts before and they didnt really make me go "damn!" which is a factor I love to see in videos.

This time around Ghost does use strung out stunts more which is nice as just doing something once can be just luck, the fact he can pull off 2 or 3 of those tight pathways in a single stunt is where the real wow comes in. I also liked the use of brass in the video, you didnt just go through the same bring in some cases you threw in several spins and dives to add a little shock to each stunt which was rather nice to see as well, improvement on what you created.

8.7/10

Overall:

"Pokker" by Ghostchild is a step up in his own style and is still a very entertaining video. However I found that if you look at this and "Wichita" I would tend to want keep "Wichita" over "Pokker" just because this isn't as original or inspired as it was.

8.5/10

Oh, that's one hell of a reveiw there, MisguidedAngel! Thanks for taking the time.

About the editing, this time I tried not too use a lot of effects as I did on Wichita and I guess that resulted in a lose in my "style" of editing or whatever. I wanted the video to be kinda of subtle. I'm not sure if you noticed it, but I tilted the camera angel a few times to make it look alittle more realistic. As if you were in the plane. Also, I tried to switch camera angels often so it wouldn't be too boring to watch, but I could maybe have done it even more.

About the song. I love the song and I don't really care that people don't understand the words. Music is universal. And whenever I make a video, I just can not use a song that I don't like.

The stunts were a lot more hard then the once in Wichita allthough I think most of you don't get that. There was maybe 1 stunt that I did on my first try. All the other needed more tries. Stunts like loops under bridges are hard, especially when you do it in the big jet plane (can't remember what it's called.). Spins inside a tunnel are even harder cause the plane allways goes alittle down of up or sideways when you spin around. So you have to plan where in the tunnel you can start doing the spin. And at least, but not least, the last stunt, the one through the red-train-bridge and the tunnel next to that was very hard. It is the most narrow tunnel I've ever done. I must admite that I did touch the wall twice. Once in the red bridge and once in the tunnel and you can see it in the tunnel. I tried to do it again without touching, but it was nearly impossible so I hope that's ok. I allways try to do my stunts as perfect as possible. Air acrobatic stunting is gracefull and you shouldn't touch a wall or anything like that, but sometimes it's just impossible not to.

There, enough said! :P

Edit: Oh, and thanks for the TGA upload, Liviu!

Cool vid dude, not as impressive as Wichita was though. I liked the different planes you used in this one. Editing was great.

I really enjoyed this video...Wichita broke some ground and was good. I find this to be good for different reasons

The variety was upped a notch will all types of planes used and some great precision stunts. I especially like the extra rotations you throw into some of the tunnel work. I found this vid to be equal to Wichita and i think people liked Wichita more because its pacing was faster and more rapid. This was slower but still consistent and fit some of the longer stunt sequences. The effects were lowered but they were hidden and probably affected alot of peoples reaction to some stunts without them knowing. It was good just not your normal in your face style...

A top video dude and I expected nothing less from your AA work. Only let down was the quality was not that high (but pixelated) If it was a result of rendering id love to see a higher quality version...but if not oh well

Well done dude

Thanks, Kr3mlin! :)

Yeah, there's something wrong with either my grafics card or Gta cause it's like that (pixelated) when I play it too.

Anyway, thanks for the reveiw! :D

Increase the Draw Distance, that helped me out when Gta looked pixelated.

Anyways downloading, i just noticed it was out.

Increasing the AA allways made my recording REALLY slow so I had to turn it down, but I can use a higher number whenever I'm just going to play the game.

I had very big expectations on this one, and I have to say you didn't make up to all of them. Though it's a great vid, and I love it.

The editing is great, but falls in some parts. I don't like all the effects and angles. The stunts are really cool, as expected. Though some of them aren't that hard (they are hard, but harder stunts have been made).

To sum it up it's great video, but it isn't as good as I hoped it would be. I think all of us compare it to Wichita though, which is a really great vid too. Maybe the stunts in this one is a bit better, but they aren't as new as they were when Wichita was released. I think we would see the same thing if Darkan ever made a new SA vid. It would probably be awesome, but we wouldn't think it's better than SA Smackdown. Stunting was so fresh at that time, and we were so stunned by every stunt.

I can think of one thing which made me not like Pokker as much as Wichita;
The music. Quite bad choice IMO.
