The broken arm of the law
« on: September 20, 2005, 08:49:13 PM »
I think I'm still not that good at stunting, mostly because I don't have a lot of time to practice. And when I do practice, I get bored. When I'm on my way to find a good spot to jump/grind/bump/whatever, I try to find something to amuse myself and that usually involves doing stuff that attracts police attention.

So I made this little video: http://files.filefront.com/TheBrokenArmOfT...;/fileinfo.html

All comments appreciated. Enjoy!

Does this involve stunts d00d?
Cause from your post, I ain't so sure.
If it doesn't this should probably go in the themed section.

In anycase, Im d/ling...

Yeah, it involves stunts. Simple stunts, but all police oriented in a sort of speak.

Wow man.  I thoroughly enjoyed that.  You sure as hell pwned those cops!

Stunts 8/10
Though the NRG krail was used a few too many times, there were enough cop fuck ups to make most of these cool as.  I also liked the stunt in Northern San Fierro where you spun around on top of that rail.  I reckon you should have thrown in some taxi stunts to add more flavour.

Editing 5/10
Nothing really to say here.  It wasn't woeful, but it wasn't brilliant either.  I understand that the overtheback shot of CJ was necessary for the cop stunts, but that was the only thing that bothered me a little.

Music 6/10
Again, nothing really of note.  I did think you could have had a bit more fun with the music, maybe choosing something lighter would have accoumplished this.

Overall 6.75/10
A cool concept that was pulled of nicely and with enough style to make it a keeper.  Great job.

Nice vid

Stunts
7/10
Some nice stunts, liked the one at about 2:30. Most of them were pretty simple, but I like the fact cops were involved in all of them

Editing
7/10
Nice editing, it flowed into eachother quite well. I didn't like the green and blue coloured letters though :P

Music
6/10
Well.. What can I say? It wasn't the best I've ever heard, a better song could be chosen. It wasn't too annoying though

Overall
6.7/10
Good vid, but do some more complicated stunts and pick some better music next time!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

If I decide to make another video of this kind (police chases) I think I'll try to use more vehices and more locations to improve variety a bit. I tried to include some stunts with higher wanted levels (5 and 6 stars) but the feds and the army dudes couldn't keep up with the chase, they always stayed behind when I was gaining speed to perform a jump.

Editing was a bitch, I almost busted my mouse trying to find camera angles that would catch all the action. As for the music, I understand that the heavy genre is not the most popular. I used that song mostly for its theme, and because I didn't have anything else "synchronizable" at hand that would blend with the action.
