I'm currently using Winamp, and have always been happy with it, until a few months ago when it wouldn't synchronize with my iPod anymore.
I read on wikipedia that foobar supports iPod, do you have any experience with this?
Basically I need a music library/player that's fast, reliable, plays everything, supports iPod and has a good/user friendly interface.
To answer your question: I've never used presets. Isn't it better to keep it at default if you play music from a wide array of genres?
Is the purpose of equalizing to try and make the music sound better, or to make it sound different (catering to your personal taste)? I have an old Fisher amp and four speakers (one in each corner of my room) which I bought at a flea market 6 years ago. The sound really has a lot of depth, and the quality is fantastic, so I've never felt the need to mess around with presets I guess.
