UG's Guide To New Shoppers

Guide To The Marketplace[/u]
By: UtterGarbage

Introduction:

Well i've had this idea in my mind for awhile and though i've seen a few of these, none have really seemed to truely "hit home" with new shoppers. The main goal here is to teach the new shopper how to buy, sell, and most importantly, get noticed within the shop. I will teach you all this, and more in four easy steps.

Perhaps the most common thing i see in the new shopper is:

Quote from: Annonymous
Hya  i stunter good. i want bike. i want good bike for San Andreas becaus ei stunt make first video. i want bike like KillaMarci. I want black bike. thanks bye .

Step One: Make a Name

Nobody's going to waste precious time making you skins if they don't know you or who you are. Especially if you're inactive or new. Before you go asking some great skinner such as, Haywire, make a name for yourself. make a few videos, stay active and get recognized. i would say at least two months and at least two-three videos.

Step Two: Diagnosis

secondly we're going to detail everything wrong in the typical "request". Let's begin with the topic title and description. Usually for a title you see: "Need a new bike plxzzzz!!!!111!!!" with description: "look here!" yeah.... Not going to cut it.... enter a topic title to something more along the lines of:

Quote
[REQ][*game of choice] *item of choice]

Remember our quote up there? Just in case you don't;

Quote from: Annonymous
Hya  i stunter good. i want bike. i want good bike for San Andreas becaus ei stunt make first video. i want bike like KillaMarci. I want black bike. thanks bye .

The beginning really sets the mood for the rest of the message. For example. Hi , doesn't work. Sound like a mature buisness man and cut RIGHT to the chase.

Quote
I am in dire need of a new *insert item of choice here*

Remember, if you followed step one, you are already known. Therefore there is NO need to introduce yourself.... Again.... So now that the opening is taken care of we can remove, "Hya ", only to replace it with "I'm in need of a new personal *item of choice*". Also remove "i stunter good" and the section about what you want and why.

Step Three: Details, details, details

Just saying you want a bike like so-and-so and you want it to be black wont cut it. Get in the specifics. Body color, tire treads, engine, breaks, rims. ect. be very specific. even if it requires a theme and example picture. Skinners like knowing the exact task at hand before accepting one. Tell them every last detail you want. So make sure you know what you want.

Step Four: Get noticed..... Again

Our final step can go hand and hand with step one. Once you know that everyone knows who you are, you know how to present yourself, and you know exactly what you want, it is time to request. Ask around and ask everyone because chances are, your first request topic wont even get noticed. Make a topic, and reply in all of the local shops. Don't waste time requesting a certain skinner. Ask by PM, put it in your sig. ANYTHING to draw attention will work.

Epologue:

Well that's all it takes. And before you say. Well Garbage, why should I listen to you? I have experience. I've had a custom bike made through A.S.S. A bike with minor custimizations from USC, and a player skin from a topic request. Plus. I'm awesome. So good luck. And happy stunting.

Created August 5, 2008 - most likely many grammatical and spelling errors. waiting to see how members take this before i go fixing some things and adding extra info.

Wasn't all that just pure logic?
If someone aren't able to think that far, then they're retarded...
