Firefly's Photo Gallery
« on: September 29, 2008, 02:09:23 PM »
I recently took up photography, and I'll use this thread to post some of my shots. These are from Sicily, my first week of photography.

See the later posts for more and better shots, I won't update the first post.

The camera is a Canon EOS 450D with a Canon EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens.

Very nice shots, the motives are awesome. Some are a bit blurry, but overall they're nice

The surroundings are nice, but the photos still aren't that interesting. I don't like them so much, sorry.

They're kinda average, to get good looking pictures when you're out in the nature isn't all that difficult as all you usually have to do is to get very close to the object that you're going to photograph.
My favorite is the top-right one of the "naked" tree, my only complaint on that one is that you should probably had sat down so the parking lot didn't sneak in.

Thanks for the comments and tips. I wasn't very familiar with the camera, or photography in general, so those aren't too good. I've improved a bit since. More shots from Sicily follow.

September 20th: Savoca, a little village in the mountains. Some scenes from The Godfather movies were filmed there.

September 22nd: Archeological park + randomness

That's all for Sicily, we left on the 23rd. I'll keep updating with photos from Finland.

Some nice ones! I currently picked up photography as well. It's fascinating to see how much you can be in control of how a picture turns out.

btw. I dunno if your dad has got one, but if he has a macro lens, you can take much sharper close up pictures of flowers.

Here are some new ones. More experimental, less holiday picture-y.

It may be a bit hard to see at this resolution, but in the watch shot you can actually see the exposure time (8 seconds) in the watch face.
