Put in a 7600GT or 6800 and you should be fine tbh, both of those can be picked up for like $50 these days.

FOr a server i recommend Quad Core processor or Phenom... y? because it allow to MORE ppl do things on it simultanious...

2GB ram + because if ull allow other ppl to download stuff throught it it would be faster tranfers offline

I really doubt its worth investing the $400+ for QC etc. If he's just gonna be running a game server occasionally and a low-usage file server it should be fine with a small upgrade rather than a complete overhaul.

for 1 server is ok to run with those... but think with 2 servers... it ill run like 1gb ram if its a "heavy" game
