Driver/hardware trouble?
« on: September 12, 2007, 08:07:37 AM »
every now and then (7/10 times) when I fire up my pc, and wait for like 10 seconds, it gives a blue screen with the white letters on it (I bet most of you had it before)

It says it might have to do with N4g_blabla, or something with the hardware. Now when I'm trying to play vc or lc it runs for 10 screens and than freezes. When I spawn a bike there's like really fucked up colours on it, just when you turn off a old tv (I dont know how to say it in one word).

I think the N4g has something to do with Nvidia drivers.

Anybody please help?

Have you updated your video card drivers?

sounds like a video card driver error.

try reinstalling the latest drivers and if that doesnt work, re-seat your video card.

Thanks, I'm checking it out

ok the file that causes the problem is Nv4_disp.dll, now when I look on the Nvidia site I don't know what to download and install

Check start>run>dxdiag, in the display tab it'll have your graphics card. Then download the graphics driver for your card.

The nv4_disp.dll infinite loop blue screen is a pretty common problem with Nvidia cards. I had it for a while, but it went away when I reinstalled the drivers.

ok, now the error is gone, but still when I try to play vice city/ lc, I take a few steps, and then it freezes. Still Video card error or will reinstalling do?
