If you take the time to read this, thanks.
I got some Philips webcam I bought at Wal-mart for about 30 bucks about last year. So, it's not that great really, but here's my problem. If I unplug it, and plug it back in, as soon as I change the settings to 60 Hz, which is so the camera will look normal, you know, with lighting. The default is "Stop AE", which I don't know what it means. I used Stop AE for filming stunts on TV or shit like that, so basically you can only see bright colors, and not things like people over the webcam. Anyways, as soon as I switch it back to 60 Hz after unplugging it, and then plugging it back in, I'll press "OK" and my whole computer crashes.
So, the reason I plug it out is because it makes stuff run smoother when I record, without lag. It works for a while, but I have to repeat the process every hour or so, I don't know the exact time, which is why for anyone that has seen my VCS and my guitar hero videos, the VCS vid lags, while my Guitar Hero videos don't.
My question is, how can I change the settings without it shutting down my PC? Or at least tell me why it does that.
Thanks.
