Hello, Today we are going to make a Maintitle, The finished product is at the bottom of the page

1. Create a document using these prefrences:

2. Hold shift and make a circle on either side like so:

3. Slect both sircle layers and merge them. Rename this layer to "Borders"/
4. Using the rounded rectangle tool, Draw this across the image:

5. Now flateen all the layers and rename the layer to "MT Shape"
6. Change the forground color to #ffffff and the background color to #c8c8c8
7. Go to Blending options > Gradient overlay and use these settings:

8. Next go to Bevel And Emboss and use these settings:

9. this is what our maintitle currently looks like:

10. Now ne need to make the text area for the maintitle so do this:

-Duplicate the layer with the maintitle on it.
-Resize it to an appropriate size and place it in the middle.

11. Pick two colors for the text area. I Chose #499be7 and #49b5e7.
12. Apply gradient overlay using these settings:

13. We now have:


You CAN leave it there, But if you want it more advanced follow these:

14. Create 2 Circles at either side like so:


15.Use the same gradient setting as Step 12 and do the the same bevel and emboss as step 8.

16. Nearly done. Now merge all layers and then make a new layer. Draw a long rectangle, Fill it with white so it looks like this:


17. CTRL+ click on the small box for the maintitle shape in the layers box. Then go to the white rectangle layer and press CTRL+Shift+I. Then press delete. We now have:


18. Final step, Use these settings on the white rectangle layer:



You have now made a maintitle. Its simple and easy for anyone to learn. Heres the outcome:



Add things such as extra boxes, Indent lines ect. Mess around and you'll be creating awesome maintitles in no time!

By any chance did you leanr your maintitle from .method at IFSZ, It looks terribly like his, But his was in LQ, Stock PC Skin and was a full image. The end result looks the same.

btw here is my finished one, Changed from the tut abit.



Might Skin it.

btw OSS Stands for "Old School Style". Not sure on EFS Though.

that looks awesome blaze but it will probabl suck as header, you should round the corners
