Alright. So I was looking through the newspaper, and found a computer for sale, the specs are
"Powerful Gateway computer. 3GBRAM, 250GB SATA RAM, 2x 2.8GHZ Duo Processors, DVD/CD burner w/software, speakers, more with 19" monitor and computer desk" $600
So are those good for running games and so on?

We need some more info. It sounds good, but what do they mean by 2 CPU's? Is it a dual socket motherboard or something? And you gotta figure out what Core 2 Duo it is.
"250GB SATA RAM" that doesn't make any sense
"3GBRAM" That sounds pretty good, but make sure its DDR2 ram.
"2x 2.8GHZ Duo Processors" Again, that's really strange... Especially that its clocked at 2.8 GHz... no Core 2 Duo is clocked at 2.8 GHz
"DVD/CD burner w/software, speakers, more with 19" monitor and computer desk"
All sounds good, but you gotta know if its good or not. He could be hyping it up and selling you really cheap shit. And especially since he's selling it for $600... I mean theres GOT to be a catch. The CPU and RAM alone would cost more than $600... And I dont mean to bring you down, but the guy doesn't seem like he know's what he's talking about
You better call in before you pay a penny.

I would personally advise against buying a computer from someone in the newspaper. I'm sure you'd find a good one in a store (after 200% markup of course) for the same price and be guaranteed a decent product.

Yeah, like I said there's another one for $350 and its just a standard system, which is all I really need until I can make some money and get new parts and shite.

Val, if you really wanna be smart, buy all of the parts separately and build the computer yourself.
