sidgyation:
my brothers laptop has had a virus attack. we've done a scan using Avast, which found a few things yet the virus still remains. the laptop is connected to the same router my pc uses, and for some reason, even when the laptop is turned off, my internet speeds are fucking slow. wtf?

what im asking for:
a solution, maybe even a tool which shows what programs/processes are connected to the internet. if you can solve my problem, 15000 points is going into your pocket.

Try System Restoration, it have worked at mine every time i have had a problem with mine comp So i think this would help you. Dunno it works for you but try it

Start -> All Programs -> Utility Programs -> System Tools -> System Restoration, i think that it is there

ok, now im getting pissed off.

viruses = gone.
my house's wireless network speed = no more than 5kb/s.

i will stab somebody if i cant get a solution.

That is a very weird problem. Are you sure it might not just be your internet provider who might have some issues in their services? Call/E-mail and ask them. If the problem isn't on their side, I believe that something is blocking up all of your bandwidth.

Grab your router, and smash it up with your hands, if any tools are used, you fail at life and your problem won't be fixed

Stamp on your router

Phone your ISP and tell them that your internet won't work, explain the situation you have regarding the router, wait for them to hang up, then get a new ISP as they probably just broke their contract.
