Problem with GTA:SA
« on: February 16, 2007, 01:07:26 PM »
I just bought GTA:SA and I really want to start stuntint but whenever I try to play the game it turns off. If I start a new game it crashes at the part where it says the airport part and 1992. If I load a 100% complete Saved game when it is done on the loading screen it just crashes.

I really badly want to play and I don't know why it won't work. If anyone could help me that would be awesome. My computer has no virus's I just checked last night.

Thanks.

If you have a certain savegame you need to have the main.scm file that was used when the savegame was created....if you have a custom main.scm file and a 100% savegame that requires the original main.scm file (found in data/script).

That is my guess at what your problem is. If you want a custom main.scm for a spawner I suggest that you use Dannye's main.scm in the modding section or use a default so that the 100% savegame is available and use some other programs such as GTASA center for teleporting and spawning

Hope this helps

When you just buyed GTA SA then you got a v2.00 without Hotcoffee mod .
You need to downgreade to 1.00 to use mods and savegames .

I know I did downgrade, I know now I need the Main.scm to play the Saved game but I am also wondering why it crashes when I start a new game with no Mods and no Saved Game.

The game crashes when clicking Start New Game on both V2 and V1.

I can play World of Warcraft perfectly fine so I doubt there is a problem with those.

A guy I know who is an IT specialist came over today and took my computer and is reformatting the drives and fixing everything that needs to be done. So Thanks everyone for your help.
