Author Topic: NFS CARBON GFX PROBLEM!!!!!! (Read 1804 times)

Alright so I "Bought" NFS Carbon today and everything seemed fine and dandy with the installation and all, and I met all the system requirements and everything, and when I go to play the game this happens.

Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on?

These are the minimum system requirements for NFS Carbon.

Operating System:    Windows 2000/XP
Processor:    1.4 GHz
Memory:    256 MB RAM
Hard Drive:    4.7 GB for CD/DVD versions / 11 GB for EA Downloader version (5GB for download, 6GB for install)
Optical Drive:    8x DVD drive ( Europe, CD drive for North America )
Video Card:    A video card with 64 MB memory and one of these chipsets is required:

NVIDIA GeForce3 / NVIDIA GeForce4 (Ti series only) / ATI Radeon 8500.
Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported
Sound Card:    DirectX 9.0c compatible
DirectX:    Version 9.0c
Online Multiplayer:    512 Kbps connection; 2-8 Players
Input:    Keyboard, Mouse
Optional: USB Steering Wheel / Dual Analogue Gamepad

These are my system specs:

Windows XP Service Pack 2.
2.52 GHz Processor
256MB RAM
60GB Harddrive
nVidia MX420 64MB GFX card
DirectX 9.0
Gamepad/Keyboard/Mouse and what not...
DVD Drive

you don't have the required "chipset" thingy in ur gfx card...

and btw where did you get those system req for nfs:c? the ones i read were pretty different

Put a few more exclamation marks in the title and maybe you'll figure it out.
Your GFX card is teh horror btw, it's the definite reason why it's not working.

Your vid card and ram is the bare minimum. For example try running SA with the minimum requirements and its going to run like shit. Just because you meet the minimums doesnt mean its going to look great, thats just guaranteeing that its going to run.

So unless you upgrade there is'nt much you can do.

actually SA runs fine since I adjusted other computer settings for the best performance, and no I dont need a refund because I meant soemhting else when I said "bought" it. anyway, I talked to my mom about a new GFX card and she says she'll get me one when if she gets that new job she's been wanting so much...hopefully.

Yeah as bove your card is waaaaaaaaaaaay too old , it's actually the shaders that won't through the MX

But the game is apnts anyway - can't touch Most Wanted in anyway .
It also seems a tad slow / frames dropping on my system and i'm running an SLi Rig with 2 gb of Ram and a 4400 DC AMD . So i dare say your system will struggle
