Hey everyone,
This is going to be a rough tutorial as to how to do player skins in SA. SA is much different then VC and GTA3 in the way everything is set up for the player. With VC and GTA3 it was .bmp based skins. In this case its .txd.
For SA you can skin a player the same way you would skin a car or bike or w/e. By editting its txd file and replacing it.
Tools you need:
GTA San Andreas
IMG Tool 2.0
TXTWorkshop 3.5
To start, in the models folder there is a IMG File known as "player" this is what controls all of the images and skinning opitions for a player in SA. Tattoo's, clothes, body etc.
Use the IMGTool and open the "Player file"
you can now see every item of clothing, every tattoo and a bunch of other things that can be done to CJ in SA. This means you can create your own clothes and tattoo's if you wish as well as skins.
When you scroll down awhile. You will come to 4 files directly linked to the player. These files are:
player_face
player_legs
player_feet
player_torso
These are the files that you may edit to create a new skin for CJ. To edit these extract them from the IMG file. (CREATE BACKUPS AFTER YOU EXTRACT CAUSE YOU MAY FUCK UP)
After thats done open your TXTWorkshop and open the extracted player files. Then just go about the same process you would when editting a for VC or GTA3. Edit the file using photoshop or paint or w/e. Then replace the current files with your editted ones (MAKE SURE YOU STILL HAVE BACKUPS)
There ya go. You should now have an editted player skin.
Enjoy
