yhea... it's me again... sry but i just want everything right...
My new problem: compression...
okey, so... here's the deal. I have been playing whit vegas a little and have come to an end that vegas rocks
BUT... let's say that i'm edeting my new movie  and I thought that if i compress all the clips before going to vegas the movie will be supersmall  so after a whole day of compressing clips in viritualdub... the next day I open up vegas, but it can't open the files...   so i think. if i UN-compress them it will be just as new... so after a whole day of UN-compressing the clips are like 500mb EACH  (fraps directory was on 24gig)
but i think: after I've edited my movie I just compress it again. then it will be smaller... but then... viritualdub can't open them.... so i'm kinda stuck. if I render the whole movie in just vegas, the movie will be on ca 500mb for u guys to download

soo. suggestions? enyone?

and viritualdub says: "ASF files are nor supported"

dont compress them just put them in vegas and start editing after that you need to setup your render settings to like 640x480 and thingsthen render the vid and you will get mmmm.... 100 mb maybe more ?? after you renderred it compress it with virtual dub it should work

So what's the deal, if you're using this tut, your video must be just right in WMV format   What the hell then?
I never used Virtual Dub to comress files, so i can't help you...
I wonder why are your files 500mbs each? O_o Mine are 200mbs each =/

Here's how i do:

1.Record the stunts with fraps at full-size 30fps and no "record sound".
2.Edit my movie and render it using Daffys wmv-tutorial.
3.Done!

No need to compress it again, the size is fine as it is.Around 50-100 mb.
That's for MQ.
For LQ i render it in WMM after i render it in vegas.
