IV Themed Videos / GTA IV: Niko Bellic's Bel Airs
« on: June 18, 2015, 12:14:10 AM »
I updated this video to show more of the '57 Chevy Bel Air colors.  There's no
plot, no fancy stunts--just Niko and his '57 Chevys.  (It was my Dad's car when I
was little.)  vlad_ seems to have transferred it from Driver San Francisco.  I
came up with the original '57 Chevy Bel Air colors, cloud pattern seat inserts,
and handling line.

Modded Stunting Video Releases / Re: Forever
« on: January 16, 2011, 03:22:23 PM »
Thanks :P!  I've been playing with stunts for years, but I like to juice up the
handling for "III" to get more fun out of the stunts.

I see a little percentage work very hard to come up with some snazzy stunts,
and I enjoy them like a lot of people and I'm happy to recommend them.  But I
see a big percentage making Lets's Plays for Mafias and GTAs that can't seem to
drive down the road without doing a header with something and blaming the car.
It's like their favorite thing about VC was North Point Mall except they'd like
to be able to buy socks there.

I think Rockstar sees this and drops the ball regarding things that made VC
fun to stunt with and orients it more toward letting people fly slowly along on
Jetpacks and Parachutes, in cars that are spongy like Nerf cars--if you run into
another you can drive over or under it--in a setting so big it stretches the
ability of the graphics engine, and buy a lot of clothes--something more like
The Sims.

So if there's a little message in what I do in all my videos, it isn't that
I'm a hot shot gamer or stunter.  It's to encourage the majority that you don't
have to be in the hall of fame to enjoy playing baseball.  You don't have to do
a double bump and land on something three inches wide then do a grind to the top
of a cop car and do an airgrab and land in a boat, then edit it with something
that costs 800 dollars, or else not do it at all.  You can crank up the tunes
and at least have fun with the basics all over town, and tape and edit it for
free.

(PS:--"Modded vehicles": if you're wondering why all my walkthroughs have a
'57 Chevy, although it's not the latest and greatest in cars, at the top of the
web page, it's because it was my Dad's car when I was little--I was born in
'56.)

Modded Stunting Video Releases / Forever
« on: January 15, 2011, 08:29:20 PM »
This is a video of a modded "GTA III."  The handling.cfg figures for the super
Rumpo and YoYo's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, which I used to replace the Idaho, are
from "Glenster's GTA III Starter Package."  Most scenes feature the "GTAIII XBox
Version" mod by rmws, a few scenes feature "Max Pain's MODDED GTA3 v2.0" by Max
Pain aka Nemo, and one scene features my "Mafia Titanic Posters and Billboards"
mod.

Joey gives Claude the mission to rescue Maria.  Claude does stunts with the
super Rumpo and the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air on the way.  Claude and Maria stay
together and he celebrates with stunts in the li'l Dodo, the super Rumpo, the
'57 Chevy, and one stunt with the Borgnine taxi.

The songs are "Forever" (Stuart Ross), a segment of "Waltz of the Flowers"
(Tchaikovsky), and "End" (Craig Conner).

GTA Modding / Glenster's "GTA III" Starter Package
« on: December 22, 2010, 08:48:36 PM »
I didn't write a walk-through for the PC version of "III" so I added more
stuff to my starter package for it.  This includes

  - a starter save and some subsequent saves up to 100% completion

  - a condensed version of Robert Rusk's walk-through for "GTA III" with some of
my tips, PC-specific and otherwise

  - a handful of modded handling.cfg files, and instructions on installation and
how to mod those files yourself

  - Alper Saracoglu's Administrative Console, a couple of files you can add to
the Program Files > GTA3Console folder to give it a lot of extra teleport loca-
tions, and instructions on installation and how to add teleport locations your-
self

  - YoYo's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, related files I modded, and in-
structions on how to install them and mod such files yourself

  - a folder about "Max Pain's Modded GTA 3 v.2," which lets you try out a lot
of the mods for "III"

  - starter save files for the "GTAIII XBOX Version" mod by rmws

  - files modded to increase clipping distance, draw distance, and diminish fog,
and instructions on how to install them and mod such files yourself

  - maps

  - "Sitting Duck Gangs"--my variation on the mod to prevent gangs from attack-
ing Claude which makes it easier for him to attack them, too, and instructions
on how to install the pedstats.dat file and mod it yourself

  - links for a lot of the mods, tools, videos, etc., and my explanations for
gimmicks and secrets, etc.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but some people at the message boards have been insisting and I haven't tested it yet.  Is it true that tapping Up, but without letting C.J. stand up, makes a bike go faster?  I wouldn't think the speed limit in handling would allow it, but does it make a motorcycle accelerate faster?
