VC Un-Modded Stunting Video Releases / Re: One More Time
« on: November 20, 2024, 12:02:55 PM »
The stunts and camera angles definitely gave the video that vibe you were aiming for although widescreen resolution and some of the 'modern' effects like chromatic aberration didn't really fit the aesthetic :P With that said it was a good watch and it's very cool to see someone come back to this after 16 years

[0:47 - 1:08] - VC - Natbump: A big, natural stunt on the VC map. It doesn't get much better than that. Getting big stats out of that ledge must've been difficult, it's not a low bump but not quite a high one either. Brutal landing on top of everything. Great opener
[1:09 - 1:16] - SAiVC - Backbump to Prec: Nice find, this is just the type of stuff I love seeing done in SAiVC
[1:17 - 1:26] - VC - Bump to Grind to Boat: Cool classic stunt. The boat landing definitely added a lot to it, good call going for that
[1:27 - 1:40] - VC - Airport P2B: Crazy stats on this one
[1:41 - 1:47] - SAiVC - Natbump to Highway: Not that interesting of a spot, good looking execution though
[1:48 - 1:55] - VC - PSM to Helipad: Awesome to see this helipad landed. Couldn't have been easy with the limited runup
[1:55 - 2:05] - SAiVC - Wall Bonk to 360 to Wallride to Grind: Similar things have been done here in SA so the spot itself didn't take me off guard but the 360 onto the wallride was really cool
[2:07 - 2:15] - LC - Bump to Krail to Double Grind: One upping Eddeman's stunt with style. Lovely execution with the 180 in-between
[2:16 - 2:24] - SAiVC - Double Krail to Grind: Looks like a fun spot
[2:26 - 2:33] - LC - Tankbump: Props for the effort
[2:35 - 2:43] - SAiVC -  BSM to Prec: I take it you lost this one. A different setup doesn't make the stunt new in my eyes although I'm sure it was a whole lot harder with a BSM
[2:44 - 2:57] - SAiVC -  PSM to BB Grind: Huge air to grind, always a treat. And nice way of avoiding the bail, smooth moves
[2:59 - 3:07] - LC - Natbump to BB: We all know how bitchy those bilboards are to land. Well done
[3:07 - 3:23] - LC - Tower P2B: I came 3ft short of landing this a stupid amount of times and even bailed on the edge once. I probably wasn't gonna come back to this spot but now I can definitely scratch it off my list. Great job
[3:25 - 3:40] - VC - Curb Bump to Curve Grind: Looks like a tough double bump to get and a tight angle too. You actually grinded way more of the rail than I expected, I didn't think you'd have enough speed to make it all the way up let alone grind around the curve. Nice looking
[3:41 - 3:55] - VC - Corked P2B: Great effort once again. RIP MaCi
[3:56 - 4:08] - VC - Drop Bump to Wallride to Grind: Neat, just the kind of spot I wish I would've found myself. So great to see stuff like this still getting landed on this map
[4:09 - 4:16] - VC - Double Bump: Never tried this but the only way a spot like this remains unladed for so many years is if it's an absolute ball-ache to try so I'm sure that was the case here. Amazing natural stunt, props for taming it
[4:17 - 4:24] -  LC - PSM to Crane Prec: Classic stuck method spot maxed out. Sick
[4:25 - 4:25] - LC - Skimmer MAG: It's a 200ft+ MAG, but I just can't fully enjoy unnatural looking setups like this, it's also not too hard to get good attempts once you have the skimmer in the right spot. It is still a 200ft+ MAG though..
[4:36 - 4:45] - SAiVC - CSM to Prec: Must've felt good to finally get the perfectly angled bump there. Very satisfying to finally see this done after having watched people fly over the prec in every other time limited vid
[4:46 - 5:08] - LC - Dam Grind: Been a long time since someone dropped an Eddeman-style grind like this. Badass spot, love to see it landed and it's even more impressive knowing that you kept re-doing the grind till you managed to stay on the roof at the end. Perfection
[5:09 - 5:22] - SAiVC - Bump: Utterly ridiculous spot and how fitting that you claimed it yourself in the end. Can't imagine how long this took, the stats combined with landing on the edge being a necessity make this one of the most absurd stunts ever landed without a doubt
[5:23 - 5:40] - Finisher: :big:. Don't know what else to say. Can't imagine someone expected a new height WR in 2024
---
Sick stuff, the tech stunts were all maxed out and I love how you mostly went for hardcore natural spots while also indeed pushing the limits with some of the big air ones. The use of SAiVC was probably the best it ever was in a video, no SA recycling to see here. I'd love to hear some backstories about the process of landing these, looking forward to the bail reel too

Editing: I gotta be honest, I thoroughly hated the way 60fps made the stunts look lol. It made everything look oddly slow, almost like a half-grav video. I felt like it took away some of the 'punch' these brutal stunts would've otherwise had. I appreciate the attempt at something new but this really didn't look good in my onion. I also once again wish you had gone for some color adjustments to give the video a little more personality, the sky looked nice but the bare bones clips made things look a little undercooked to me. The camera work was stellar as always though, I very much enjoyed all the custom made movements
Sorry if it sounded like I shit all over the edit, obviously that's just my preference and I'm sure you guys like the video as it is.

gj mayne

Daaaaamn ;D always love watching console stunting. Amazing level

This is stunting in its purest form. Cool to see grinds and infy bumps on the console version. Also nice use of the quarry missions.

Thanks guys. The atmosphere of the console version is indeed something else, glad you enjoy it too

was this on emulator? so cool man

Nah, just the old PS2. Appreciate the reaction man. The clothes weren't really referencing anything btw, I'd just change up CJ's outfit every so often as I played through the story

That DMX song really pops out im my head when I look to your signature

nice video had a comfy old-school feeling

Top 12 most memorable GTAS moments no doubt. And thanks ☐

This was as entertaining as it gets, good job nig. You have my respect for doing such a video, hope you had fun landing these stuff. Also I admire the variety of stunts in here!

Glad you liked it and good to see you around my man. It was definitely lots of fun landing these and messing about with a variety of stuff

Clean stunting through and through, very satisfying to watch. Car grinds are probably more dependent on execution than any other type of stunts and it's clear you've gone above and beyond to land these smoothly and not allow for any clumsiness to sneak in so props for that. My favorite was the second stunt, that couldn't have been done better. Some really good use of the dusty farming method too with the finisher of course being the higlight, that was just crazy.
Editing was really nice and did the stunts justice with some nice shots and subtle transitions, glad you found a suitable editor in the end. One thing I wasn't a fan of was the static skybox, it looked a little odd at times

Fun vid, I especially enjoyed the car stuff. LCS/VCS physics have always intrigued me, they seem to have the snappiness of VC with some aspects of SA mixed in. Cool find with the bmx, it seems super scuffed in this engine (iirc you can reach ridiculous speeds just by learning foward), I wonder if there's more goofy stuff that can be done with it. I only wish you had landed more objects that are unique to VCS but maybe there aren't as many of those as I remember

Just the other day I randomly recalled seeing you livestream attempts of that freeway p2b from the outro which must've been about 10 years ago like you said, I was wondering if you ever gave stunting another spin after that and here we are, I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened this thread :ninja: You were one of the main inspirations for the FL-ON throwback videos Nerve mentioned in his post, it's a real treat to see you in action again after all this time and you most certainly still got it. Loved pretty much everything about the video, the unorthodox ideas, the raw look of SA, the obscure and forgotten methods like BSMs or BBMs but also the simple, classic stuff like the bonk off the awning to krail to grind in the countryside which was my personal favorite. Finisher was also neat and a nice throwback at that.
It'd be great to see you stick around but regardless of what you do next thanks for the video - an instant classic I'm sure I'll be revisiting many times down the line

0:30 - Dam double grind: Nice fast paced double

0:40 - Wallbonk to court house: This one doesn't look all that spectacular and I believe it's been done before

0:47 - Curb bump to ledge grind: Sick approach, getting around the corner at that speed must've been insanely hard, it's understandable that staying on the ledge past the dip was too much to ask for

0:58 - Drop wallride to grind: Very cool find

1:05 - Bridge double grind: Classic double grind spot done better than ever before. Perfect execution too with that 180 between the rails

1:14 - P2B to apartment block: Big and the angle looks tough, it's always satisfying to see new "obvious" finds like this

1:24 - Back tankbump to apartment block: Simply insane, I wouldn't have ever considered that to be possible with that angle and limited runup

1:32 - Airport wallride to grind: Slick double although I've seen a slightly better variation of that spot :ninja:

1:44 - Drop to quad BB grind: Well done, about time someone nailed all 4, one could only wish the map offered a better way of getting onto these billboards but what can you do

1:54 - Cherry double grind on BB: One of those perfect "meant to be" spots. Landing on that block made it look even more complete

2:05 - Drop stoppie to grind: Doesn't look very difficult but nice idea doing a stoppie up a slope, don't think I've seen that before

2:22 - Grind to ledge to box prec: This one smacked me in the face. Seeing you drop onto the first rail got me questioning what else could one possibly do with that spot and I came up blank. Utterly ridiculous combo

2:42 - Skimmer bump to high ledge: Those stucks are not pretty but when it comes to landing a huge, long sought after roof like this, anything goes. Nutty

2:56 - PSM to Hyman stairwell: This spot might've lost its oomph over the years but one upping it like this surely brings it back

3:05 - Oversized back tankbump: A well known spot that i reckon most have scratched off their to-try list due to the angle and overall difficulty. Great job and badass execution

3:14 - Skimmer bump by the water: Not as huge as the other one but seeing new roofs conquered is always nice

3:25 - Icecream bump to prec: This has been done with a PSM not too long ago, funky setup though

3:34 - PSM MAG: The PSM itself wouldn't have been that interesting but that MAG with a little forward momentum made it look great

3:43 - PSM grind bonk grind: Very clever, i didn't see the second grind coming at all

3:53 - P2B airport ledge grind: Amazing unique grind and looks super difficult

4:05 - Skimmer bump Moist Palms: Probably my least favorite stunt in the video, the stuckie looks very on the nose as someone has said, still nice to see this part of the roof finally landed with a pcj

4:15 - PSM MAG to grind: Simply a 10/10 stunt, couldn't ask for anything more here

4:27 - PSM hotel prec: Truly pushing the limits and making the most out of runup techniques with this one. Amazing job and landing the little block was the icing on the cake

4:38 - Trashmaster bump to radio prec: Utterly fucking absurd, nothing else to say

4:47 - PSM to ship antenna prec: ^, just a ridiculous prec to go for in VC engine. Great finisher

Top notch stuff once again, goes without saying. Once again catching everyone off guard with stupidly difficult stunts and finding spots in areas where everyone else has poked around. If there's anything one could get picky about it's the amount of secondary vehicle assisted stunts, I can't help but notice that every stunt starting from the bright skin part was a vehicle bump, but that's completely understandable as natural spots that are worth going for and reasonable to try are hard to come by these days.

Editing: I gotta say I disliked some of the cinematic shots at first but they've grown on me after a rewatch or two, in fact I always liked the "this one camera angle is all you get" approach in Barney's videos so I think the less clear-cut shots are totally in place and add to the experience, good use of the new tools.

I can agree with the last part in a way, and how it's dishonest to not add a disclaimer also. But that bit is where it will ruin stunting for me. Going forwards it will now be difficult to appreciate hard stunts if there is no live footage and the replay date is after today. The burden of proof for a 'clean' stunt has now been raised in my book.
Technically this doesn't change anything, it's not like this is something that wasn't possible until AllBeast showcased it. For all we know somebody could've been doing this years ago

You know the technical stunts are something else when a 240ft p2b is not even the highlight of the video. The grind combos in this are without a doubt the greatest stunts ever done and it's not even close. <- if this is a false statement in the end it mostly matters to you, after all being able to look at your work and be pleased with it is the most important thing about this.

Will there be "director's commentary" for this video too? I enjoyed watching the last one))))

VC Un-Modded Stunting Video Releases / Re: ♦ Skyward 4 ♦
« on: October 09, 2021, 12:21:44 PM »
The intro was really fresh but i felt like the main part was a bit underwhelming, it didn't live up to the novelty of the intro. "Visuals like you've never seen before" had me expecting more than a bunch of greenscreened overlays. With everything that was going on with the sky the rest of the game looked very dull in comparison, i wish you had gone for a more experimental look with some crazy colors. Camera angles felt way too plain and static most of the time, the flow just wasn't there. The song got very repetitive after a minute or two - Skyward 3's varied soundtrack was one of the things that made it a fun watch.
Some good stunts and clever finds, particularly enjoyed the stuff by Dannye, Fckr, Rainbow and Turbo
