SA Themed Videos / It's Been Good
« on: March 23, 2008, 12:48:35 AM »
Wow...  I don't really know what to say, other than 'thank you' - with the deepest sincerity!

My goal was to bring back the fond memories we all had when we first opened the freedom-filled wonder of San Andreas, and to have comments that reflect that response just brings me such a great sense of joy that's hard to describe...

Cheers to GTA, how about it? :-)

How do you do those circled filming ? And how do you make SA look so good ?

To get the circling shots, I flew a helicopter above the point I wanted to be circling, then (using the camhack) moved the camera back and downwards until the shot looked right, then I would just yaw the chopper left and right.  For the second question - I use a number of techniques to get the look I want which varies quite a bit; feel free to pm me if you want the specifics and I'd be happy to oblige

I just have to ask... are you using ENBSeries...?
Some of the scenes looked like they had a some of that add-on in them.

Didn't use this, though I must say that's quite an impressive mod to say the least!

Hi all!

Just finished my latest GTA film entitled "It's Been Good" - it's simply a tribute to the joys of the game; I hope the video may bring joy as well!

SA Themed Videos / The American Dream
« on: August 05, 2007, 11:15:32 AM »
Thanks all for the great comments!  It's nice to have such a cool and accepting place to show off new vids.  And sorry it's been so long since last time, it just took me a bit more thought to come up with a concept for the new film

I do frequent these boards but I typically don't have very much to say because the stunts are just so incredibly far over my head to be honest...  My thought process roughly went as follows:  "Wow, that guy just did a quadruple backwards somersault to the top of a skyscraper, did a grind and then a flawless 1080 off the backside...  I suck at bikes..."  And then I began thinking of how I may be able to try to compensate for my lack of road-going skill with editing and so here we are

Anyway what I'm trying to say is the talent here is immense, and I'm quite franky humbled by it, and by your acceptance of newcomers like myself.

Cheers

Hi all!  My second SA video is titled "The American Dream"; it is not meant to be a stunt video so much as simply a piece of entertainment...  Regardless I hope you all will still like it!

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / AU misc team vid

Very nice man, I loved the look of the clips which were filming the other planes from 1st person view especially (like at 3:54).  Looks so frantic and intense

Been playing around a with a few codecs and arrived at a nearly full quality 3ivx encode that's a smaller filesize than the mp4 (never realized how big a difference there was).

I've uploaded this to my own server, so please don't share this link around too liberally if it can be helped... Thanks. Here is the link.

This should play in VLC, not sure about WMP or BSPlayer.

And of course, thank you all for the comments!  Such love

Thanks again for all the comments!

I actually used Final Cut Pro to do the editing but Premiere would indeed have been just as sufficient.  I used After Effects to furnish each clip.  And no, I wasn't high, I just like heavily stylized footage (Top Gear esque).

I did fly with the camhack on, but I do that anyway because I like to fly 1st person (cockpit view) so it wasn't much bother besides the shots looking backwards I suppose...

I realize many of the stunts weren't difficult (the flip at the very end was treacherous  ) but my aim was to make a video that would fit with the music and its mood as closely as possible as well as have many varied angles, and so these filler shots were needed in my opinion for this particular vid.

And I apologize if I've stepped on anyone's toes regarding stunts, I saw a few aircraft stunt videos just to make sure I wasn't copying all the common moves and I didn't actively do as such, but there are only so many tunnels in San Andreas one may fly through...

Anyway, these collaborative videos sound like they could be quite fun to work on...  I'm sure I could find some time to help edit one of these in the future so just get in contact with me if/when you think I may be able to help.

Thanks again guys, I'll see you around!

You are a fine bunch of folks; thanks so much for all of your comments!

I have uploaded the larger version to FileFront, and it can be found Here

I always loved stunting in SA but never really felt like making a video of it until I found the Camhack, which just blew me away with its versatility.  That's why Racer_S is in the credits 3 times, for good measure

I've got no reason to leave these parts any time soon, but I am in the process of starting a business so though I may not be the most active member, I will be around if anybody would like some help making videos.

I did aircraft stunts in the video because that's all I can do... when it comes to the bikes or cars I typically end up making a complete hash of it so just a disclaimer to anyone looking for help: I can help with the video side but the stunting's up to you   I have a feeling that won't be a problem though, I was stunned when I looked around these forums and saw the things that were possible on a bike!  Definitely no shortage of incredible stunters...

Oh, and Sadness: I use a wired Xbox360 controller that uses USB, using San Andreas Advanced Control (yet another wonder from Racer_S).

Thanks again for all of your words, I'll be sticking around!

Hi all, I'm new here and thought I'd introduce a video along with myself, so here you go. It consists of mostly Hydra stunts as well as a few Biplane ones.

Edit: High Quality 3ivx Link

I wasn't quite sure if it should be put here or in the modded videos section, but since the mods I used were only for aesthetics' sake (camera hack and the like) I figured it should go here, so I apologize if that's wrong!

Hope you all enjoy it!
