Just a few thoughts. If you would really want to recultivate this site, there would be some major steps to be done in order to really achieve something. Only a few cosmetic adjustments will not help at all, to let this site shine once again, as it did in it's peak-time. I saw a few sites now trying to regain their former glory, but mostly all failed because they wanted to hold on to old things too much .. and thus staying with their old setup, which obviously led to this very situation of people being not interested in the site nolonger. If you want to change something, then do it right.
1. Consider deleting all 0-post accounts.
2. Look through all subsections and topics .. are they still really needed nowadays? If not, delete them or update them.
3. Create a new Video Database thread, which collects and archives old stuntvideos, like
this one did for example, or the vid-reupload topic, TGA did once .. you know what I mean. It would be a huge amount of work, yes, but it would help to regain a great aspect of this site (.. to always find all the best gta stuntvideos, regardless if they were made in 2014 or in 2004). And if you do, only use one, max. two different hosters; MEGA seems safe nowadays, dropbox is not suitable for uploading and holding "all the videos" for a long time.
4. Create a new thread which could be called "stunting techniques and etiquette - a beginners guide". Such a thread should be pinned somewhere central, so that newcomers can see it immediately. It should contain links to all sort of tutorials, it should discuss the "unofficial stunting rules" we all should obey regarding stunting on this site. Like "godmode is okay" and "speedhack is not okay". Et cetera, pp.
5. Other games these days profite of people Let's Play'ing them and thus showcase the game in all it's details. Something like this could be sort of done for gta and gta stunting aswell. A professional voice-commented Let's Play and/or tutorials of "stunting in gta" would be a major help to reach people.
6. Personal opinion: delete the world record subsections. They are of no use anylonger.
.. and the list could go on, but I think you get the point. And if not, here is "the point" in short: review the site, recognize the flaws it has and actively try to work them out. There really could be something like a second summer for this site, yes indeed, but it really depends whether or not people are willing to do the right things .. and not stay inactive. Just tell the world .. WE ARE ALIVE .. not by only actually saying that out loud, but by showing them some
change.
Nomad Union's recent videos were a great thing for this site, indeed .. being recognized by Rockstar and machinma and all. But the core, the site gtastunting.net behind it, lacks in some departments. If those things get dealt with, there is hope for this site to remain a few years longer.
