Title: SA 60 FPS Cap [Solved]
Post by: Herrarge on January 14, 2018, 02:22:49 AM
Hey bois, was wondering if anyone knows how to uncap the FL Off 60 FPS limit.

Been trying to change the video card settings, tried several CLEO and other mods to uncap the frame limit, nothing seems to work. As the game is running at 60 FPS with full settings, I assume it's not the computer's power limiting it.

Edit: Using SilentPatch, but deleting it doesn't change it. Maybe there are other system files I overwrote?
Card is a NVIDIA GeForce 820M

Thanks for stopping by :)

Ye, had the same problem, but i`ve had 60 fps in samp and 90 in SA.
My problem was that i used FL ON (and on the server i was making by it`s commands /fpslimit, so when i`ve made more than 60 - i`ve got only 60).

Anyway, if you are using Win10, some of the latest updates, well, they`ve added "xbox" program (Game DVR on Windows 10) to record videos, so, be default you now have this shitty program, and a lot of win10 users now have this "cap".

You have 2 options - to disable this shit (you need to log in to your xbox prog and disable it) OR just delete in by cmd.
Go to PowerShell as admin, and use this command: Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

Thanks for your answer.

Tried deactivating it manually, didn't work.

Used the PowerShell as admin, tried yours and these two commands
Code: [Select]
Get-AppxPackage *xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
All I get is an error it can't be uninstalled. Some say even though there is an error it still uninstalls, so I rebooted after entering one comment at a time. Didn't work.

Also tried deactivating the services using
Code: [Select]
"sc delete XblAuthManager", "sc delete XblGameSave" and "sc delete XboxNetApiSvc"but it didn't work, although they are in fact deactivated.

There is this Nvidia Inspector tool, that gives you enhanced modifications for global settings and specific games, disabled V-Sync and Framelimiter globally and for the game ... guess what it didn't work.

After entering all these funny comments I can still activate the Game DVR, so I guess somehow it blocked my administrative access, although it works for many people.

Going to try them in windows safe mode, maybe it accepts my authority :D - safe mode doesn't allow device modification <.<

Also tried checking "disable fullscreen optimization" in the executable options... nothing.

It's caused by strange win 10 fullscreen optimization thing, you can fix it either by disabling fullscreen optimization for each game (right click to game icon>properties>compatibility>fullscreen optimization) otherwise no idea.

"Also tried checking "disable fullscreen optimization" in the executable options... nothing." found this one earlier, too. Anyways thanks for your concern.

Yeah, after updating all drivers plus deleting and adding several files, all programs keep on lagging and crashing. Might as well delete sys32, would be a bless. :|

What's with other games?
This might be a HDD issue.

But srsly, does anyone have another idea? Game DVR is off, V-Sync off, updated everything, even DirectX. Also other games reach 300 fps easily. It only happens to SA, which I have reinstalled and launched completely clean, with still 60 FPS only. I know stunting with higher FPS may only be noticable when doing boosts, but it's triggering me so much, since it works on all other games.

did you choose that game must run with nvidia videocard? because sometimes system don't use nvidia as primary video adapter, you can manuly set it to nvidia in nvidia control panel

this, i had to set my laptop to do that manually, sometimes after i minimize my game too many times in one session it disconnects from the nvidia card and runs awful on gpu-integrated card

though i didn't have problems with v-sync there

Yes sir, I right click the program and launch it through the Nvidia Card. Also used the Nvidia Inspection tool and set everything to V-Sync off, even set custom highest fps and everything else. Even tried uninstalling Nvidia Drivers, running it with the inbuild card only, as it works for my brother, but it didn't change anything.

Was thinking of any tool, that gives advanced graphics settings for SA in some way? Can't think of any possible solution, as other games work without any problem, and the settings are the same for all applications. Maybe there are some hidden options? Maybe there is a possibility to overclock all system settings with custom ones for a specific program? Could there be a problem within the San Andreas files? Tried different executables aswell ... Can't think of ways the program being handled, other than the video card, but there might be?

if you mean hidden settings there's 3d settings in nvidia control panel > manage 3d settings > program settings.

That's where I did the changes. Thought of any way to "overclock" global graphics settings, or add specific definitions to the executable. Somehow I still get the feeling the two graphics cards are influencing each other, or anything is changing settings in any way. Did a test with Microsoft Process Monitor, where you can see all activity connected to a programm, but I didn't find anything. Remember a bug with COD, where the audio driver had an effect on the graphics, but my mind doesn't see any connection.

Edit: Found this program called "DXWnd", that let's you change specific options for an executable (mostly used for older games to make them run on new systems). It has super cool options, but none work for me either :D.

Editt: VC is running with multiple houndreds of FPS, while SA still is stuck at 60.
Does anyone have a hint where the problem could bee?  :ajaja:

Sa limit adjuster?

SA_FPS_?60fps.zip?

SA_FPS_?60fps.zip?

You say whaaaat?

The adjuster limits the FPS to 60, but that's exactly not what I want.

Edit: Just started a game, where I get 300 fps, and launched SA at the same time. In San Andreas the 60 FPS cap was gone, crashing shortly after entering, saying the DirectX Version wasn't compatible.
Tried launching the game trough different DirectX versions, using DXWnd, without results. Also can't reproduce the "bug".
Is there any way DirectX has an influence/ can it be modified in any way?

Fixed :OOO

After playing around with DXWnd again I've found an option called "Suppress D3D8/9 Reset" which got rid of the FPS cap, but not showing any ingame video source.
Googling the catchphrase led me to a mod called "WineD3D (https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag)" that lets you copy .dll files into the game's root folder. Still no effect.
Last but not least I tried it with the ""Windowed Mode Script" (http://gtaforums.com/topic/865138-windowed-mode/) -> Problem fixed!!!

Like wtf most random solution ever?
Finally I can RAD the LV Highway without bumping every 2 meters

Laggy replays inc!!!11!!!
