Title: A new NRG, almost 10 years after.
Post by: MrC on October 07, 2017, 01:51:45 PM
Hey folks,
been playing various older games, was just a matter of time till I hit Vice and SA again, and well...
One thing came to another, I got a little bored and rushed by the memories of the past, so the new saved replay directory fills quickly and also a WIP skins directory...

Took me some hours to get back into the structures of the TXDs
The metals are done, the body is started without any concept an I tried various thingys...
I think my style didn't changed that much, some here may remember.

I'm still a lil sad I lost about 80% of my data before 2010 by a heavy HDD crash a few years ago - all GTA related things were gone.
May someone around here got some of my old skins around? Or some pictures or videos...

If someone is in need, I may feel like taking one or two requests with a good concept  :hmm:

Greetings

Being brutally honest it looks like a 5 minute wallpaper slap onto the body job given the seemingly random mix of textures and weird changes in colour, would probably look better without the white lines on the main body area. Brakes are pretty nice though and it's nice to see some skinning activity.

Got no problems with some honest words, I actually prefer those ;)

My goal was to get back in the NRGs texture by hitting some (to me) important points with some lines and dots, since it's actually weirdly stretched and totally oversized at some points...
After I got those I created some randomly curved crossing lines and stuff, slapped some effects around to see/remember what the engine does with those - the basic image file got some way better/harder contrast levels and stuff I slightly reduced them to hit the level of the game's engine. Same on the "white" lines, those aren't that white as they may look like, they are actually pretty lime greenish with some decent alpha work behind.

It's one of these "WIP and (re)learn to trash-bin" things I guess.
