So, we know the famous hold down and tap up when your plate sparks the floor technique. But, I've heard of people using mouse scrolls and joypads and a lot more.
Mind mentioning some of these? Perhaps the most effective (excluding joypads/additional hardware).

The only difference with a gamepad is you don't need to tap for a good RAD you just have to keep the joystick a bit inclinated to get the same RAD.
Mouse scrolling RAD is only relevant on Vice City (even if I don't know what it is about).
-
I found out that you get more speed if your plate doesn't hit the ground quite yet. Joypad users can benefit from this little trick a bit more, but it's very hard to pull off. I'll try it in a second and see if I can show you the replay or something. I still tap up tho. And I am not sure if it actually IS faster, but it sure feels faster.

Mouse RADing in VC (using the left and right mouse buttons) seemingly lowers the threshold for how far you can dip down from a RADs position before leaning back into it. Once you go past a certain speed (especially when you're going north) it takes longer get back into the RADs position because part of what helps you pull a wheelie in the first place is not the speed you're going in, but it's how fast you're accelerating which naturally pulls you backwards thanks to back-wheel drive so you have to lose some speed to accelerate fast enough to pull a wheelie again.
That's why it's easier to pull a wheelie when you're in the 0-100 km/h range instead of anything above, because the acceleration is higher.
I'm not exactly sure how the mechanics of this works but if I had to guess I'd say it's because some computer/gaming mouses operate with a higher USB frequency rate (MHz) than a keyboard.
When it comes to gamepads, you can essentially hold the bike in a constant RADs position instead of balancing up and down between it unless you get a stuck-RADs where you have to let go of the button you use to accelerate to drop down for a bump.
During a RADs you drop down from whatever gear you're in, into first gear so you get the same acceleration as you would if driving in first gear could actually could be done in 200 km/h, when sparks starts flying from under your bike you're in this position, once you pop and have to lean back in or go back and forth which a lot of people do you go gear up into 2nd or 3rd gear in the time spent between the RADs position so gamepads enables you to hold that position more efficiently.
Another thing (some) gamepads allows you to do is to lean forward while turning (look at some of kanedas stunts as an example) which can't be achieved with a keyboard so you get to benefit from the speed boost the 'tap lean forward' method gives you while turning.

I'm not sure what conclusion to draw from this since the rest of your text doesn't elaborate on this specifically. Do you mean it's harder to get back into RAD's when using your mouse or easier?
Also @ Burn, nobody uses scrolling for RADing in VC. Atleast I think so. Sounds very weird though since you need to hold a button for leaning back and not tap it (like a mouse wheel can simulated) really quickly.
-
I thought mouse RADing was just a legend.

To perform a rollboost I m holding my gamepad with my right hand and at the same time I m scrolling with my left hand, you should see that ^^

Easier, figured it was kinda intuitive or people wouldn't really bother talking about it. :cc_detective:

Well atleast it's not that upside down roll over the table that was overly present in 2009-2010 :P Scrolling works well for boosting though, not so much for RADing.

Had no idea about this. Have always used a gamepad/keyboard combo, but never knew I didn't need to tap up and down, but only hold it halfway. But still, seems like a bitch to hold the analog stick in the perfect position rather than tapping it up.
-
So, it does matter how 'fast' you tap or 'when' you tap? Lets say we're racing at the Los Santos Airport. Somehow, I know I'm raping the keyboard, it seems a LOT slower compared to the rest. If it's a matter of FPS, it never drops below 97 in SA-MP and 98 in SP, an average of 100 to 105, sometimes higher if my PC is in the mood.
CURIOUSITY - Does anyone have his right arm stronger simply due to RADing?
P.S: I've only fapped once in my life, soso... :ninja:
-
I use mouse radding (left + right buttons) in every game. I feel like it's more comfortable but doesn't give any advantages whatsoever.

I have a tendonitis on my left hand probably because of radding (i m serious). I even had to stop working for 2 weeks because of pain but whatsoever it was worth it.
-
Yeah my left hand is noticeably weaker than right one (I'm an active right hand fappa and tappa in GTA), I felt it in the gym when lifting.
PK wtf :Disgusted:
-
This topic just got interesting.
Too bad we explaining this to our friends would make us seem weird.
-
Another historical moment in the history of GTAStunting.
May 13th, 2015: FPS changed its meaning to "Faps Per Second".
-
Lol
-
I can download 60 fraps per second. :ninja:
-
Whenever I return to VC it takes several days for tapping not to completely fuck up my hand. Thank god for leaning in V.
-
My hand is fine and I've been RADing for 6 years. You guys are weak.

Yeah, I never had problems with that... or maybe I should be tapping faster.

You should get some mineral supplements, magnesium and ZMA are gold.
Also make sure your elbows touch the table when you play, if you support your entire upper body weight on your wrists it's gonna fuck you up son :cc_detective:

Pretty much that. It hurts if my elbows aren't touching the chair's armrests after tapping for some time.
-
That's true. I'm lucky, because my chair's arms are perfectly fit my table's level, I can simply lay back and enjoy the game, it's pretty comfortable. My other chair doesn't have arms, it gets uncomfortable in just a half an hour.

Some month ago my hand get cold everytime I speedtap/RAD. I have a question for you guys what key do you use for speedtap/RAD? mine are 9/6 because the basic key are broken thanks to rad

Yeah that cold shit happens from time to time. I also used numpad 9 and 6 because it felt more comfortable for the hand but now I mouseRAD in both games.
-
I use the arrowkeys, and from the people I've spoke to it seems like I'm the only one :(
-
I use W/S :ninja:

I have fucked up my numer 6 because of my hard fokkin 0wnag3 radZ! So I usually switch from 9/6 to 8/5 or the up/down arrows. I've tried mouse radding but it isn't really my cup of tea though.
-
I started using mouse for RADs 2009 because I felt it was easier to click faster and both buttons at the same time
Edit: That's in VC, using keyboard in SA so camera doesn't move all the time :D

Daffy spitting knowledge like usual. I thought people forgot about such safety issues after middle school. :ninja:

It's funny you say that since from my last blood analysis i had a lack of magnesium^^
When i'm playing (only with a gamepad) my elbows are set on my legs so it shouldnt be problematic.
I will release a kind of tutorial with all the tricks and techniques i learnt over the years once i m done with a project

Yeah! Arrowkeys FTW. I've only stunted with a gamepad in 2008 on PS2.

Although I've already broke the upper arrow in two keyboards. They were 9€/15€ keyboards tho.
-
I use the same keyboard since I started stunting on PC (2009). The only thing that happened to it is that the arrows and the WASD letters are not there anymore.. Now I have 6 clean keys. :d
-
In SA I use , and . after... I think it was boxXx who told me, or he used the numpad keys, I don't remember. In VC I use the mouse because the camera can't fuck itself because of the sensitivity but I use a gamepad half of the time too. I'm a hybrid. Used to use the arrow keys, but at some point that fucked up because CJ kept in the same position for a full second before easing up.
