Dxtory is the 2nd go to, although you'll need to mess around with it a bunch to get optimal settings.

No need to abandon fraps though, it is a really handy & intuitive recording tool.

Wtf, why can't you record at 1080p?
Are you recording at 10 fps like any other sane person?

Aight, perfect. What you want to do is record your clips at 10 fps, when you're done recording everything, in vegas, right click the clip & go to properties. There, set the playback rate to 3.0000 for Vice City or 2.5000 for San Andreas, you'll also profit from unticking the "maintain aspect ratio" & disabling resample, so the flames won't blend with each other making for a more crisp footage.

You'll have to do this for every clip you record, it's not that time consuming & provides much better quality vids.

Also in fraps tick "lock framerate when recording" otherwise this won't work.

Forcing lossless RGB will provide an even better quality, so if you can, tick that as well.

No problem, that's kind of what forums are all about.
