Title: {S} Simple CC (NO PLUG-INS!)
Post by: Determined on July 08, 2012, 03:07:17 PM
This is for the people who aren't as wealthy to have fancy plug-ins & professional SV's or are simply too paranoid or lawful to pirate them, as well as for those, whose PC's just aren't strong enough to handle that shit. So I decided to make a little alternative, this is mostly targeted at the people who are new to the editing scene & might not be able to make such good CCs from scratch, this is more of a template to learn from rather than a solid structured CC. So, if you're not doing too good with CCs, this might help you! Let's say, 400 cred. & it's yours! The price can be negotiated, if necessary.
Here are the previews:

If you're interested in buying it, please note your version of sony vegas, so I know what to send (pictures/project file).

This is not a first come, first serve CC, as I said, it's more of a learning tool to aid those who aren't as good with vegas, so it's gonna be sold to anyone who wants it.
If you're looking for a unique CC, feel free to look elsewhere or ask me personally.

giving away "simple ccs" will lead u guys nowhere, just learn by urself or give out good & hard color corrections
selling colors with some preset-alike settings is just wrong imo

Well, it's just a starting tool, + it has track compositing, where, you can pretty much add anything & make it look really good, so, I don't really care about the creds that much, just trying to help out, if someone needs it.

I think beginners can learn from hard/advanced ccs more than from a basic/average one, but yeah^^

I just wanted to make a simple starting point, from which, they'd learn how to combine effects creatively, some people just don't know where to start & are intimidated to use most of the effects they're offered & mostly, they will overdo some of them, which would suck out the actual colors of the game. I don't disagree with you, it's just my own alternative, plus there are a few obvious tricks in there, that aren't really that simple to crack by yourself, especially with the double layer/opacity settings.

Wouldn't recommend on a low end PC.

You should consider that the used timecyc, in-game brightness, daytime & weather will forge the look. It'd be better if you let customers know that too. Especially new people who you made this for often think a veggie template will lead to the exact same result while it doesn't.

About the look - I thought it doesn't look too bad, the sky diffusion just seems a little too soft to me, but other than that it is fine. Well the amount of FX you used already seems performance consuming to me, I think with a few plug-ins you could get similar or even better looks with less hardware usage. I ain't talking about magic bullet shit for example, which takes ridiculously much performance.

Btw: How did you get that high resolution? I assume you're using two monitors, eh? Just wondering as I only could choose 1 to play on when I had 2 as well in the past. It has probably been a GFX card or monitor issue though over here as this crap is really old and weak.

a bit of off-topic, but why are people so obsessed with oversaturated color corrections? IMO cc is a thing which should gently improve the game's look, not completely change it. it's probably just me but imo the original colors look ten times better than most of the cc's you showed as an example.

Rusch: Well, my initial idea behind this was that of financial issues, that prohibit using most of the plug-ins, since they're not freeware, although, I can see that I might've shot wrong with that performance issue. I've no idea why my snaps turn out so big, I don't have multiple monitors, just one, with 1920x1080 native reso. It's weird, really.

Gryzlek: It's about the style of each individual. For me, the colors have always been about complementing a song. I don't choose to make them overblown, I just listen to the music I'm using & find a scheme that I find fits with said music. It's really quite automatic, I can't help it.
