Well with this, and the clip from the game being shown in the official gamescom trailer. And the fact they haven't shared anything for more than 10 monthes now... I'd say it's very reasonable that they'd show GTA 5 at gamescom.

If you bothered to read more of the gta forums thread, you'd realise it's just another fake :P. Doesn't mean there won't be info there but the E3 trailer supposedly had GTA V in it aswell, but nothing was shown there.

The problem is that they put a short scene of GTA V in the gamescom trailer ... so i don't know what to think.
