My only complaint is the paint splatter on the outer rim, kinda throws off the theme. But it's good to see another PCJ DFF modder.

It's a reflection map. And I didn't make the model.

Oh snap, I haven't worked out how to get a reflection map on the wheels yet without it crashing or not working, so props to you. Still, it's a very sharp detail and it's out of place, reflections should always be subtle.

That really depends on the material you are trying to create.  If you want a brushed aluminum look, yes you need a map with smoother gradients, but if you want to mimic super shiny chrome, you need sharp contrast.  I'm sure it looks better when in motion.
