Just tried to launch GTA and it says gta_sa.exe cannot be located, then i get AVG pop up with a virus detected at the location; rockstar/gta san andreas/gta_sa.exe.
I can't do system restore because it say there aren't any restore points, even though i have created plenty and the last one would have been a few weeks ago. So it might have deleted them too.
I'm guessing it was from something GTA related because it has infected all the gta_sa.exe lauchers in my Rockstar folder.
Alien City contains 2 Trojans but it not say anything about a virus.
and the last GTA i played was GTA United so it might be from that.
Guess i have to reinstall SA now and hope it doesn't infect them again :cheersad:

Go to the Resident Shield thingy and go to exceptions, then add all the GTA directories and you shouldn't get any messages.
-
Might be the NO-CD you're using.
-
Would much rather reinstall GTA than allow the virus onto my computer
I clicked move virus to vault so it removed gta_sa.exe, dont have much of a choice apart from reinstall.
Not using a no-cd

Did AVG update recently? It might recognise some of the functions the .exe uses as a risky. Just add them to the exceptions then. If you're still doubting, scan it with a different virus scanner.
-
add it to DEP exceptions list, and to your anti virus exception list

I got the gta_sa.exe from my Alien City and put it in my San Andreas directory and the game started fine, which is kind of strange. I guess i will just use that if it works just the same.
